Coordinator, Materials Distribution
Public Works - Operations Support
Status: 1 Regular Full Time Position
Compensation: $54,969-$68,713 per annum plus comprehensive benefits
Location and Work Mode: Onsite 230 Advance Blvd, Brampton
Hours of work: 35 hours per week; Monday to Friday.
Reporting to the Team Leader, Supply Management, you'll handle product receipt and distribution for Public Works clients, manage inventory, track product movement, and resolve discrepancies. You'll also oversee staff training, invoice reconciliation, and direct inquiries as needed. Prepared to work in all weather conditions, you'll distribute products from outdoor storage and drive to Region of Peel facilities, worksites, and vendor locations, with use of a Region of Peel vehicle.
What you will do in this role:
- Ordering, receiving, and distributing products throughout the organization, primarily to the Public Works clientele.
- Purchasing through multiple mediums, maintaining an inventory of products, tracking product movement, and investigating discrepancies where necessary.
- Perform invoice matching and reconciling for related purchases and direct inquiries to the appropriate areas
- Distribution of products to clients will include issuance from our outdoor storage area and operating in inclement weather.
- Driving will be required to move product between Region of Peel facilities, and Region of Peel work sites, and vendor locations using Region of Peel vehicles
- Use of a personal vehicle will be required for job assignments at different Region of Peel sites/yards
- Initial training and orientation may be conducted at more than one Region of Peel work site.
What the role requires:
- Secondary school graduate with some post-secondary courses in purchasing, inventory control, or business, combined with one to two years of relevant warehouse or materials distribution experience; An equivalent combination of education and/or experience may be considered
- Must have a working knowledge of MS Office applications (including Word, Excel, and Outlook) and Windows-based database entry
- Experience using Hansen Inventory Software is a definite asset.
- Good judgment, tact, analytical, and research/problem-solving skills.
- Strong customer service skills. Must be able to complete various work forms and prepare written reports.
- Good verbal and written communication skills to liaise with internal and external partners.
- Strong organizational abilities, time management skills, and the ability to work in a fast-paced multi-project environment.
- A Forklift and Reach Truck certification is a definite asset and will be required upon hire
- Must hold Ontario Licence Class “G” in good standing
- Physically able to lift up to 50 lbs is a requirement of the position
- Health & Safety and WHIMS training considered an asset
