Summary of responsibilities:
The Advisor, Official Languages is responsible for the management of the Official Languages program, including the development and implementation of strategies and activities to support CATSA’s observance of Parts IV, V, VI and VII of the Official Languages Act (OLA). The incumbent is also responsible for coordinating all aspects of the Official Languages (OL) file, including ongoing reporting and all follow-up activities as generated by the Office of the Commissioner of Official Languages (OCOL), Canadian Heritage and the Treasury Board of Canada Secretariat (TBS). The Advisor, Official Languages performs all other duties and responsibilities related to the position as required.
What you need to succeed
To qualify for the position, you must have:
- Graduation from a recognized university in languages or another specialization relevant to the duties of the position.
- A minimum of three years of experience organizing, collecting and analyzing information, and developing reports, briefing materials, presentations and correspondence.
- Experience in contributing to the development and implementation and monitoring of frameworks, strategies, policies and programs.
- Experience in conducting research from multiple sources, performing analyses and providing advice to senior management.
- Experience in developing and writing presentations, reports, written recommendations, or briefing notes to senior management
- Experience in establishing and managing consultative and collaborative relationships and partnerships with internal stakeholders and other government organizations and Central Agencies.
- Experience liaising with various stakeholders.
- Experience in planning projects, coordinating activities and providing status briefings.
- Experience in providing advice and recommendations to employees and management, including senior management.

- Experience in other fields such as Parliamentary Affairs, Diversity and Inclusion and GBA Plus.
Specific work requirements
- Ability to work overtime as required;
- Language Profile: Bilingual CBCC;
- Ability to obtain and maintain a Secret security clearance; and
- Be a Canadian citizen or permanent resident.
