Job Responsibilities:
Data Entry:
- Accurately input financial transactions (including donations, payments, invoices, and bills) into QuickBooks Online Advanced.
Accounts Receivable:
- Enter donation information from various platforms (e.g. One Cause/Raisin, Canada Helps, Stripe, Square, PayPal)
- Coordinate with Programs and/or Events Coordinator with payments received for programs and event fees.
- Prepare and post weekly cash and cheque deposits
Accounts Payable:
- Track vendor and donor payments, ensuring they are processed in a timely manner.
- Review and enter invoices into QuickBooks Online for payment processing.
- Prepare and organize vendor remittances/EFT payments every two weeks.
Bank Reconciliation:
- Reconcile VISA transactions from the Bank with internal records.
- Monitor daily transactions, ensuring consistency between bank records and internal data.
Admin:
- Filing paperwork for audit purposes
- Scan, organize, and maintain digital financial records using SharePoint for easy access and retrieval.
- Required to maintain confidentiality and to professionally interact with employees and management
Other:
- Complies with CPAA policies and procedures
- Perform other tasks as assigned
Work Conditions:
- Office working conditions apply to this role
- Manual dexterity required to use desktop computer and peripherals
- Additional hours may be required outside of the usual working hours.
Requirements:
- High school diploma or equivalent
- Post secondary accounting education an asset
- Minimum 2 years previous accounting experience
- Strong attention to detail and organizational skills
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite (Word, Excel, Outlook)
- Experience with QuickBooks Online Advanced is an asset
- Excellent communication (verbal and written) and interpersonal skills
- Ability to work independently and as part of a team
