Summary of responsibilities:
The Senior Advisor, Operations is responsible for acting as an advisor to the Senior Director, Operations and his/her management team by developing plans, strategies, research and thought leadership on issues related to Operations. They are also responsible for coordinating, monitoring, and leading key initiatives, as well as advising directorate management on action plans, activities, communications products, and projects as they relate to CATSA’s mandate. The Senior Advisor, Operations performs all other duties and responsibilities related to the position as required.
What you need to succeed
To qualify for the position, you must have:
- Graduation from a recognized university with a specialization in political science, arts, social science, business, communications, or another speciality relevant to the duties of the position.
- A minimum of six (6) years of experience providing analysis, strategic advice, and guidance to various management levels, including senior management.
- A minimum of six (6) years of experience performing quality control of high-level communications and management materials; conducting research and producing reports, briefing notes, presentations, and communiqués.
- A minimum of six (6) years of experience planning, organizing, and coordinating program/project implementation.
- Strong written and interpersonal skills including the ability to brief senior management in a succinct and timely manner.
- Experience in liaising, establishing and sustaining relationships with a variety of stakeholders, internal and external.
- Proficiency in reading, interpreting, and synthesizing complex data from various sources to generate actionable insights and inform strategic decision-making.
- Experience preparing and editing documents for senior management audiences.
- Experience tracking projects and producing briefing notes/reports/updates.
- Proficiency with Microsoft Office Suite (Outlook, Word, Excel, PowerPoint) and programs used to modify, update, or edit PDF documents (Adobe Acrobat).

- Experience supporting project management activities.
