Summary of responsibilities:
The Senior Advisor, Internal Communications is responsible for providing strategic communications advice and services to key audiences to achieve corporate objectives. The incumbent will be working collaboratively with client groups developing appropriate communication strategies, plans and products that align with CATSA’s goals, culture and values. Where applicable, the Senior Advisor, Internal Communications supports communication development in accordance with the following: Accessible Canada Regulations, the Official Languages Act, and the Government of Canada’s Policy on Gender-Based Analysis Plus. The Senior Advisor, Internal Communications performs all other duties and responsibilities related to the position as required.
What you need to succeed
To qualify for the position, you must have:
• Graduation from a recognized university or college with a specialization in marketing, communications or related field.
• A minimum of seven (7) years of experience in a strategic internal communications role.
• Proven experience developing, writing and presenting communications strategies, plans and senior management briefings.
• Excellent communications skills, with experience writing for internal audiences and for senior management to deliver internal messages.
• Experience executing communications plans and product development.
• Strong analytical skills to quickly analyze complex situations, determine key issues, messages, and outcomes, and implement targeted programs.
• Project management skills including strategic planning and the ability to develop and manage workplans.
• Experience in and passionate about building employee engagement and organizational alignment through effective internal communications.
• Solid understanding of internal communications best practices and proven experience researching and applying changes in evolving internal approaches and tactics.
• Detailed understanding of communication principles and their application in the effective integration of corporate messages.
• Ability to manage multiple projects and meet deadlines in a fast-paced environment, with well-developed prioritization, time management and multi-tasking skills.
• A high degree of flexibility to adapt to multiple and competing priorities.
