Opportunity: Program Support Volunteer – Day Program
Location: Calgary, AB (Onsite – in-person at Main Office)
Commitment: 6–8 hours/week
Duration: 3–6 months
Reports To: Services Manager
Role Overview
We are seeking a caring and enthusiastic Program Support Volunteer to assist in the day-to-day delivery of activities within our day program. This is a rewarding opportunity to directly engage with participants by supporting activities such as painting, music, games, and community outings while fostering a positive, inclusive, and safe environment.
Key Responsibilities
- Support the facilitation of daily program activities including art, music, games, and group discussions.
- Assist with organizing, preparing, and setting up materials for activities.
- Engage with participants in a supportive, respectful, and encouraging manner.
- Work alongside staff and other volunteers to maintain a welcoming and inclusive program environment.
- Help ensure activities run smoothly and contribute to participant enjoyment.
Qualifications
- Strong interpersonal and communication skills.
- Friendly, patient, and adaptable when working with individuals with diverse abilities.
- Experience in arts, music, recreation, or community programming is an asset (but not required).
- Passion for inclusion, accessibility, and empowering individuals with disabilities.
- Reliability and commitment to scheduled shifts.
- Clear Criminal Record Check with Vulnerable Sector Check (required).
- Valid First Aid certification (required).
- Intervention Record Check (required).
