We have an immediate opening for McQueen Home Lead, who will be responsible for the overall management and operation of the Home, ensuring the delivery of high-quality care and services to residents in accordance with Alberta Health Services (AHS) guidelines, regulatory requirements, and best practice standards. This role involves leadership, strategic planning, and coordination to create a safe and supportive environment for residents and staff.
Please note: This position is focused on the leadership and management of the McQueen Home and is not a nursing role. While relevant healthcare experience is valuable, this is not a direct care nursing position. Please read the roles and responsibilities carefully.
Easter Seals McQueen Home
Easter Seals Alberta’s McQueen Home in Edmonton is a nine-bedroom home for individuals living with a disability, who, due to their high personal care needs, would be unable to live independently without support. The Home is dedicated to providing high-quality care and support to our residents, ensuring their safety, dignity, and well-being. We strive to create a welcoming and inclusive environment where residents can thrive and feel at home.
Responsibilities:
Oversee the daily operations of the care home, ensuring compliance with all relevant regulations and standards.
Provide leadership and direction to staff, fostering a positive and collaborative work environment.
Develop and implement policies and procedures to ensure the effective delivery of care services.
Manage staffing levels, including recruitment, training, supervision, and performance management.
Ensure the provision of high-quality, person-centered care to all residents.
Qualifications:
Bachelor’s degree in Healthcare Administration, Nursing, Social Work, or a related field.
Minimum of 5 years of experience in a leadership role within a healthcare or care home setting. Experience in a leadership role within a care home or group home is highly desirable.
Relevant certifications such as Registered Nurse (RN), Licensed Practical Nurse (LPN), or equivalent are an asset.
Comprehensive understanding of AHS guidelines, regulatory requirements, and best practices in care home management.
Strong leadership, organizational, and communication skills. Ability to manage budgets and financial plans. Proficient in using healthcare management software and tools.
Compassionate, empathetic, and committed to the well-being of residents. Ability to work effectively under pressure and manage multiple priorities.
