Instructor, Architectural Technology (Term Part-Time)

POSITION TYPE: Part-Time, Term Position Available (anticipated September 16, 2024 up to November 15, 2024)
SALARY: $33.62 - $51.43 hourly
*The successful candidate with a Masters or PhD in a related field will receive an Educational Supplement of $2,850 or $5,700 per annum, respectively, pro-rated on an hourly basis.

DUTIES
Reporting to the Chair of Architectural Technology, the instructor is required to prepare course materials and assessments, modify and develop curriculum, and instruct the approved curriculum.
REQUIRED QUALIFICATIONS
- Diploma in Mechanical Engineering, Architectural Technology, or architectural mechanical systems construction; an equivalent combination of education and experience may be considered
- Experience in the following subject areas: Mechanical Engineering, and Mechanical Systems documentation and drawing interpretation
- Ability to work with current learning tools and technologies associated with course delivery
- Ability to work independently as well as in small to large group settings
- Excellent interpersonal skills with the ability to use conflict resolution techniques to facilitate positive outcomes
- Strong verbal and written communication skills
- Strong presentation skills
- Demonstrated leadership skills
- Ability to teach on campus
- Demonstrated experience using Microsoft Office Suite
- Experience building a respectful workplace culture that promotes diversity, learning and continuous improvement
ASSET QUALIFICATIONS
- Teaching experience in industry or post-secondary environments
- Degree in Mechanical or Civil Engineering
- Program and/or course development experience
- Certificate in Adult Education (CAE) or Teaching for Learning (TFL) credential
CONDITIONS OF EMPLOYMENT
- Applicants must be legally entitled to work in Canada
- This position may be required to work evenings and/or weekends
- Instructors are required to complete the Teaching for Learning (TFL) in Applied Education program or have previously completed the Certificate in Adult Education (CAE)
