- Reviews job descriptions to ensure they are up-to-date and relevant to the current role and within the functionality of the program and suggestions improvements to meet operational needs.
- Drafts relevant job postings in consultation with the hiring manager, ensuring they meet the appropriate requirements for the vacancy.
- Advertises job postings to relevant, meaningful, and appropriate job boards and resources.
- Conducts research and outreach to determine where WoodGreen can advertise to ensure we are attracting a qualified and diverse candidate pool.
- Guides in the selection process with operational units to ensure candidate recruitment efforts build highly effective teams.
- Supports hiring managers with the development of relevant and meaningful interview questions.
- Coordinates interviews with hiring panel and schedules interview sessions with selected candidates.
- Sits on hiring panels and guides hiring managers in the process of selecting the most appropriate candidates for vacant positions.
- Conducts the criminal background and reference check process for selected candidates.
- Assists the HR & Systems Administrator with drafting and sending out offer letters.
- Assists hiring managers with the onboarding and orientation of new staff, including ensuring newly hired staff are prepared for their first day at work.
- Participates in various recruitment activities, including job fairs, presentations, and related activities, as required.
- Supports in the ongoing maintenance of the applicant tracking system database.
- Ensures recruitment activities align with the requirements outlined in the Collective Agreement.
- Acts as a resource to staff and Managers on the interpretation and application of the Collective Agreement as it relates to recruitment activities.
- Ensures recruitment activities align with legislation requirements including the Ontario Human Rights Act and the Accessibility for Ontarian with Disabilities Act.
- Reviews and evaluates organizational recruitment and onboarding programs and makes recommendations for improvements.
- Supports in the development and implementation of organizational recruitment and onboarding activities to enable a culture of belonging.
- Maintains strict confidentiality of WoodGreen financial, payroll, and human resources data and information.
- Responsible for representing the department on internal or external committees and associations as requested by the Director of Labour Relations and Organizational Development.
- Consistently models the values of WoodGreen in interactions with candidates, clients, visitors, staff, and stakeholders.
- Responsible for upgrading training and education as directed by WoodGreen to fulfil the responsibilities of the position.
- Ability to utilize LinkedIn to source and attract talent.
What You Bring to the Team- Bachelor’s degree in Human Resources, Business Administration, Marketing, or a related field
- CHRP considered an asset
- 1-3 years of experience in Recruitment, preferably in a unionized environment
- Recruitment experience in a not for profit or social services agency considered an asset
- Experience with using and customizing Applicant Tracking Systems; experience with JazzHR considered an asset
- Experience and familiarity with a variety of job boards including, Charity Village, LinkedIn, Indeed, etc.
- Knowledge of employment, labour, human rights, and other applicable statutes and legislation.
- Strong time management, organization, and coordination skills.
- Ability to build excellent rapport and relationships with internal and external partners and with candidates.
- Superior communication (verbal and written) and customer service skills to provide positive, engaging, and professional experiences for all stakeholders.
- Ability to analyze problems and interpret data to identify key information and issues, and suggest ideas for the development of strategies to meet the recruitment needs of the organization.
- Ability to coach, support, and guide others and act as reliable resource.
- Proven ability to work calmly under the pressure of critical deadlines or heavy volumes during peak periods and changing priorities.
- Ability to exercise tact, discretion, and judgment.
- Strong computer skills with proficiency in MS Office Suite and the ability to learn new applications quickly. Previous experience with JazzHR and would be considered an asset.
