Partnerships Manager
We are looking for an energetic, curious, and talented communicator who wants to make an impact! We need someone to identify, initiate and develop relationships that help grow our corporate participation and sponsorship for our high-profile events.
You will be responsible to develop and manage a sales plan, meet weekly and monthly sales targets, and work creatively to develop a robust and relevant corporate participation in our events. Daily work requires high energy, discipline and a genuine intention to understand the buyer’s perspective and sell value to gain commitment.
Most work will be executed over the phone with some work through virtual and in-person meetings and email. Sales activities requires a high volume of work which includes, but is not limited to cold calling, emails, research, meetings (in-person and virtual), contract preparation, negotiation, contact management, reporting, customer service and relationship management.
Along with sales and relationship development skills, the ideal candidate will be able to work well in collaboration with our functional departments (marketing, operations, content) to keep to our critical path and favorable workflow. This role will also be primarily responsible for new business but also the longer-term stewardship of our corporate relationships as well as the renewals and referrals that may result.

Qualifications
· 5+ years working in B2B sales, account management, stakeholder engagement, fund development, media sales, publishing, sales, or related experience.
· Proven ability to qualify prospects and work to gain commitment through relationship building and the presentation of a strong value proposition.
· Creates and maintains a plan to achieve weekly, monthly, and annual revenue targets.
· Experience executing an outbound sales campaign.
· Proven ability to manage a high volume of sales activity including but not limited to cold calling, emails, research, meetings (in-person and virtual), contract preparation and contact management and customer relationship management.
· Proficiency using a Sales CRM to organize, execute and log all sales activities and manage a sales pipeline (preferably HubSpot)
· Delivers a high level of service to both internal and external customers.
· Has a deep understanding of and affinity with Indigenous economic issues/opportunities.
· Follows a critical path for sales, including discovery, objection handling and closing strategies.
· Excellent communications skills, both written and verbal
· Ability to prepare and execute compelling presentations.
· Strong organization skills and a keen attention to detail
· Good business acumen and the ability to understand new or complex information.
· Post-Secondary degree or diploma in business, commerce or related field is a compliment.
· Experience selling exhibit opportunities or sponsorship or advertising a considerable asset.

Must currently be legally eligible to work in Canada. This is a Calgary based position and please note at this time we do not offer permanent remote work opportunities or relocation/sponsorship support. This role works Monday to Friday and will require periods of after hours, weekend and non-social time. Travel may be required. A reliable vehicle and mobile phone are required to work.

Salary: $50,000.00 per year base with OTE of $80-90,000
