Youth Engagement Manager - North (Full Time)

Salary - $53,564 - $67,068

What qualifications are we looking for?
At YMCA Calgary we strive to ensure our employees are a fit based on their strengths, interests, and future goals. The successful candidate will have the following;
Experience in overseeing strength-based programs and/or community development of youth including Newcomers, International Students, Refugees, and Second-Generation Canadians.
Post-secondary diploma/degree in recreation, social work, human serives, education, or equivalent
Minimum of 3 years working in a supervisory capacity within an organization providing services for children and youth
Experience working with vulnerable populations
Experience managing an effective staff team to collaboratively achieve desired outcomes
Effective skills in the planning and delivery of developmentally appropriate programs for youth
Ability to establish and maintain strong relationships with community partners
Excellent oral and written communication skills, including intermediate use of technology
Budget development and management
Current Standard First Aid and CPR C
Evidence of a cleared Police Information Check and Vulnerable Sector Search
Three professional references required
What does this role look like at YMCA Calgary?
Reporting to the General Manager, this candidate will be responsible for but not limited to the following:
Operational Excellence
Provide leadership and strategic direction to the following programs: YMCA Achievement Program (YMAP) and Teen Vibe Experience (TVE).
Commit to exceptional quality in the delivery of programs and services within your area.
Support the development and management of the program budget.
Support the completion of any reporting as required for funders.
Provide leadership and support to full-time and part-time staff and build capacity and sustainability within the departments as programs expand to meet community needs.
Oversee the provision of satellite programs during and after school hours to meet the cultural, social and recreational needs as determined by the YMCA and the community.
Work with multiple stakeholders from a Youth Engagement lense with an open and positive approach.
Develop relationships and collaborative opportunities with External Partners to better serve the youth community.
Ensure all systems are in place for the efficient operation and evaluation of all programs
Develop and maintain budgets, forecasts, and all associated reports for all funding as related to the position
Represent YMCA Calgary on both internal and external committees
Staff Development and Capacity Building
Recruit and train your staff team
Commit to ensuring your staff team is afforded relevant professional development opportunities
Be responsible for coaching and supporting all indirect reports within the branch
Health and Safety
Ensure compliance to all health and safety systems, policies, and procedures within your branch
Ensure compliance of all certifications for staff and volunteers within your ILT
Community Engagement
Support the General Manager in ensuring the YMCA has a positive presence in the local community
Fund Development
Provide direct leadership and oversight to the Staff and Volunteer aspect of the Annual Campaign
