SALARY: $91,520 - $128,980 per annum

DUTIES
Reporting directly to the Director of Research Partnerships and Innovation (RPI), the Manager, Research Programs is a portfolio and program manager responsible for leading the entire pre-award administration of the research portfolio for the institution. This position oversees Research Manager and/or Grant Manager positions. It authorizes the submission of grant proposals holding the formal authority of the Research Grants Officer (RGO), the strategic management of project inquiries, intake and review processes, and strategic advising on large infrastructure grants and the development of applied research projects that align with the institution's goals and priorities. This portfolio oversees research security and supports the Director RPI in providing advisory input on research policy. This role also entails the independent management and execution of complex, college-wide projects and initiatives that drive innovation and research excellence.
As a senior leader within the RPI, the Manager, Research Programs, serves as the primary liaison between RRC Polytech and major external stakeholders, including funding agencies, industry partners, and other critical collaborators. The individual in this role will foster and maintain strategic relationships, ensuring that all research activities are aligned with the college's mission and deliver maximum impact.
REQUIRED QUALIFICATIONS
- Graduate Degree in a related field of study. Combination of education and extensive experience may be considered
- Experience conducting research and familiarity with research management and program and policy development
- Experience in the review of applied research proposals, and the development of applied research projects
- Demonstrated experience in applying for and managing research grants
- Demonstrated excellent organizational, analytical, research and creative skills
- Strong oral and written communication skills
- Excellent interpersonal and networking skills
- Demonstrated strong financial management skills
- Demonstrated effective human resource management skills
- Demonstrated project management skills
- Demonstrated skill in the development and management of effective data collection and reporting systems and processes
- Knowledge of intellectual property

- Knowledge of capital planning, property management and space planning
- Ability to work collaboratively with a wide variety of constituents and organizations

ASSET QUALIFICATIONS
- Formal training and/or certification in Project Management
- Experience with a relevant field of technology
