About The Role
We’re hiring a recruitment specialist in Calgary, AB. This role is hybrid - in-office with 20% flexibility to work from home.
Reporting to the HR Business Partner & Supervisor, Recruitment, the Recruitment Specialist plays a pivotal role in our Human Resources team. The successful candidate will be responsible for managing full-cycle recruitment processes, establishing partnerships with Hiring Leaders, and acquiring top talent to join Black Diamond Group. This role offers an opportunity to work independently and take ownership of the recruitment process from start to finish. This role will primarily focus on hiring talent for LodgeLink but will assist with recruitment across Black Diamond Group, depending on volumes.
The ideal candidate for this role will be a high performer with a track record of formulating and executing proactive recruitment strategies to attract top talent. They will be self-motivated, entrepreneurial, inquisitive, and intuitive, able to determine and fulfill the hiring needs of the organization effectively. The candidate should demonstrate a proven ability to conduct thorough research, collect and analyze data, and develop innovative ideas and solutions. They should also possess a proactive approach to handling the recruitment cycle, ensuring a seamless and efficient process.
Duties & Responsibilities:
- Manage full-cycle recruitment processes, including job posting, sourcing, screening, interviewing, and onboarding.
- Establish strong partnerships with HR Business Partners and Hiring Leaders to understand and fulfill their business unit hiring needs.
- Formulate and execute proactive recruitment strategies to attract top talent.
- Utilize social media platforms, such as LinkedIn, to promote the company and engage with potential candidates.
- Source passive candidates and build relationships with staffing partners, including pre-employment and government-funded programs.
- Conduct research, collect, and analyze data to drive recruitment decisions and enhance the recruitment process.
- Recommend new recruitment and sourcing strategies for active and passive candidate recruiting.
- Network and attend industry and recruitment events to increase brand awareness and attract talent.
- Collaborate with staffing agencies and vendors to fulfill recruitment requirements.
- Ensure compliance with employment regulations and organizational policies in all countries of operation.
- Manage pre- and post-hire onboarding processes, including drug & alcohol testing, criminal records checks, and HRIS system processing.
- Deliver New Hire Orientation Sessions.
- Maintain recruitment tracking spreadsheets and provide regular reports to management on recruitment statistics.
- Handle other duties and special projects as required.
Qualifications:
- Minimum of 5 years’ experience in full-cycle Recruitment for a wide variety of roles.
- Previous experience in an agency setting or corporate environment with high-touch full-cycle recruitment.
- Experience recruiting across Canada, the US, and Australia is an asset.
- Demonstrated ability to recruit for a variety of roles, from operations to corporate positions.
- Self-motivated, entrepreneurial, inquisitive, and intuitive.
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
- Ability to work independently and collaboratively within a team environment.
- Experience as a superuser or administrator in SAP SuccessFactors is a strong asset.
- Strong business acumen, ability to learn and a customer-centric focus.
- Self-starter, with the ability to manage multiple priorities in a fast-paced, changing environment.
- Ability to build effective relationships, influence culture, and drive change with consistent application and alignment to business objectives.
