Hours of work: 35 hours per week
Who we are: In collaboration with our partners, we provide a system perspective and specialized supports to achieve Regional and Health Services priorities and health program outcomes.
A critical component of this position is leading the operational execution of the Community Safety and Well-being (CSWB Plan) through oversight of the CSWB secretariat, and leadership for integration of this work across internal and external portfolios. The CSWB Plan takes a comprehensive approach to promoting safety & well-being and preventing crime through incident response, risk intervention, prevention and social development. Leadership and backbone support is provided by the Region and Peel Regional Police, and is implemented through collaboration and partnership with over 40 different local community partners. A review and refresh of the Plan is currently ongoing to build on successes to date and build on learnings from the first four years of its execution.
In this role you will Manage a team of approximately 12 direct reports.
What you will do in this role:
- Leadership and Strategy: Directs the development and implementation of strategic plans, priority projects, and key focus areas for Health Services and SPP. Establishes strategic and operational goals and ensures alignment with departmental and corporate objectives.
- Program and Project Management: Oversees the planning, development, and execution of departmental and corporate initiatives. Manages multiple strategic programs and projects to support evidence-based decisions and effective delivery of health services.
- Stakeholder Engagement: Regularly liaises with internal and external stakeholders, including health leadership teams, municipal and federal representatives, and the academic community, to assess priorities, negotiate resources, and communicate progress.
- Performance and Evaluation: Provides expertise in program evaluation, performance measurement, and process improvement. Ensures high-quality reports and adherence to legislative standards, and manages budget and resource utilization.
- Change Management: Leads change management processes and ensures knowledge translation and continuing education. Implements process improvements and manages complex portfolios, balancing competing interests and priorities.
- Staff Management: Recruits, coaches, and evaluates staff. Develops workforce capabilities and incorporates staff input into decision-making processes. Ensures compliance with policies and procedures.
- Communication and Relationship Building: Acts as a liaison, managing relationships with stakeholders and academic institutions. Builds and maintains networks and collaborative relationships to support program deliverables.
- Project Execution: Develops and executes projects using corporate methodologies, ensuring they meet client standards, timeframes, and budget constraints.
What the role requires:
- Relevant university in Health Sciences, Health Administration or Business Administration
- 5 – 8 years progressive management experience
- Excellent knowledge of process management, program evaluation and performance measurement
- Thorough knowledge and experience using project management principles, practices, techniques and tools
- Education and experience in knowledge translation and adult educational strategies
- Excellent knowledge of quality improvement, process management, program evaluation and performance measurement
- Demonstrated ability to manage administrative, budget and human resource processes for a section or team
- Combination of education and experience may be considered
Skills/Abilities:
- Excellent research skills using evidence informed decision making best practices
- Excellent negotiation, facilitation and conflict resolution skills
- Experience in managing internal and external business partnerships and client relationships
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills
- Demonstrated ability to plan, implement and evaluate activities and interventions designed to meet strategic objectives.
- Well-developed knowledge and skill in change management, ability to lead change management initiatives at all levels
- Excellent planning, administration and project management skills
- Strong strategic, analytical and problem-solving ability
- Strong leadership skills with the ability to motivate, coach, mentor and performance manage staff
- Demonstrated ability to build and utilize networks among provincial and national organizations, universities and other research institutes
- Proficiency in all MS Office applications

In this role, you'll enjoy the flexibility of a hybrid work arrangement. This means you'll have the ability to work off-site and on-site as needed, depending on operational needs at the 7120 Hurontario Street, Mississauga worksite. The frequency of on-site work may vary from week to week, depending on operational demands, which can evolve over time.
It's important to note that your off-site work location must be within the province of Ontario.
