Salary Range: $100,172-$125,213 per annum plus comprehensive benefits

Location: 10 Peel Centre Drive, Brampton
Hours of work: 35 hours per week
Who we are: On behalf of the Region of Peel, Peel Housing Corporation, and Peel Regional Police, we assist in ensuring that the procurement of goods and services complies with the Procurement By-Law, Municipal Act, and applicable Trade Agreements while ensuring best value for money.
What you will do in this role:
The Procurement Advisor is responsible for managing procurement activities to support the Region of Peel’s Strategic Plan and deliver high-quality programs and services. Key responsibilities include:
- Expert Recommendations: Advising stakeholders on procurement plans, policies, and procedures for various services and commodities.
- Compliance and Best Practices: Ensuring procurement processes adhere to the Region’s Procurement By-Law, procedures, and trade agreements while applying best practices.
- Complex Procurement: Handling non-routine and complex procurement processes, such as negotiated RFPs and public-private partnerships, across sectors like construction, IT, consulting, and general services.
- Documentation and Negotiation: Preparing procurement documents (RFQs, RFPs, tenders) and participating in contract negotiations.
- Risk Management and Support: Assessing procurement methods, developing business cases, analyzing risks, and providing advice on contract issues and budget development.
What the role requires:
- 5 – 10 years progressive procurement experience
- Experience procuring goods and services in varying commodity and service- based industries
- Experience with public sector procurement policies and By-Laws
- Procurement development, issuance and receipt in eBidding portals
- Combination of education and experience may be considered
Skills/Abilities:
- Strong communications, planning, scheduling, customer service and project management skills
- Report writing experience
- Strong computer skills, particularly in Microsoft Word, Excel, Project and Outlook and PeopleSoft and e-procurement technology
- In depth knowledge of public sector procurement principles, methods and best practices, including experience using flexible procurement practices
- Extensive experience in specification writing, CCDC contracts, and Contract A and B interpretation
- Demonstrate a commitment to diversity, equity, and inclusion through continuous development, modeling inclusive behaviors, and proactively managing bias

In this role, you'll enjoy the flexibility of a hybrid work arrangement. This means you'll have the ability to work off-site and on-site as needed, depending on operational needs at the 10 Peel Centre Drive, Brampton worksite. The frequency of on-site work may vary from week to week, depending on operational demands, which can evolve over time.
It's important to note that your off-site work location must be within the province of Ontario.
