Hours of work: 35 hours per week
Our Information Technology Division plays an important role in the organization with respect to our technology & digital needs. The IT Division is composed of Information Management, Digital Services, IT Solutions & IT Operations.
The Enterprise Cloud and Security Solutions Architect is responsible for developing and maintaining security measures for regional networks, data, and resources to meet security and regulatory requirements. Key responsibilities include:
- Security Architecture: Designing and maintaining enterprise-wide security architectures and standards, and updating business continuity, incident response, and disaster recovery plans.
- Security Processes: Developing and promoting security processes and standards for managing information security, identity management, and IT service continuity.
- Risk Management: Leading security processes like Business Impact Analysis and Threat Risk Assessment, and recommending controls to protect data and systems.
- Design and Compliance: Reviewing and approving design documents to ensure compliance with security policies and recommending design changes to reduce risk.
- Expert Advice: Providing guidance on security architecture and risk management to IT governance boards and stakeholders.
- Technology and Innovation: Researching and designing modern security technologies, and evaluating security methods for performance and scalability improvements.
- Incident Management: Advising on security investigations, leading resolution efforts, and updating security repositories.
- Collaboration and Leadership: Working with IT and departmental staff, contributing to project and operational plans, and staying involved in professional development and associations.
What the role requires:
- University or college graduate in computer science or related discipline
- Minimum 10 years information technology experience with advanced skills in technology security, hardware, software, policies and procedures
- Certification in IT Security and Architecture (e.g. CISSP, CISM, TOGAF, GIAC, CCSP, CCSK)
- Knowledge of applicable Federal, Provincial and Municipal laws and requirements
- Able to travel to various regional locations; and able to work evenings, weekends and holidays, on-call rotation and/or shift.
- Combination of education and experience may be considered
Skills/Abilities:
- Demonstrated knowledge of information technology as it relates to the security of information and systems, security investigations and audits, business continuity and disaster recovery processes and procedures
- Demonstrated knowledge in security management, risk management, intrusion defense, privacy protection, vulnerability management, penetration testing, business continuity planning and associated technology security applications
- Demonstrated knowledge of technologies such as firewalls, intrusion detection, anti-malware, security event management and cloud security defenses
- Demonstrated research, analytical, critical thinking and report writing skills to resolve problems and apply solutions to complex security / information / identity issues
- Demonstrated ability to develop complex models that meet architectural specifications, learn new technologies, assist in code reviews, and write documentation in approved formats
- Able to lead and facilitate architectural design sessions with business area experts, managers, senior managers, and IT staff
- Highly developed writing skills necessary to author complex specification documents, blueprints, and proposals
- Understanding of emerging technologies, business re-engineering principles and processes, business drivers and business strategy
- Progressive technical knowledge and knowledge of best practices in Information Technology service delivery such as SDLC, PMBOK, COBIT, TOGAF and ITIL
- Strong interpersonal and communication skills to build and foster partnerships with clients, technical team, and management in an audience-friendly manner
- Demonstrated analytical skills

In this role, you'll enjoy the flexibility of a hybrid work arrangement. This means you'll have the ability to work off-site and on-site as needed, depending on operational needs at the 10 Peel Centre Drive, Brampton worksite. The frequency of on-site work may vary from week to week, depending on operational demands, which can evolve over time.
It's important to note that your off-site work location must be within the province of Ontario.
