PAMA Visitor Service Guide
Community Connections - Peel Art Gallery, Museum & Archives
Status: (3) Contract Part Time positions – Up to 13 months
Salary Range: $22.76 - $ 28.45 per hour
Work Mode: Onsite
Location: 9 Wellington Street East, Brampton worksite
Hours of work: Up to 15 hours per week
*Various shifts: Thursday 5:30pm – 9:00pm, Saturday 10:00am – 5:00pm, Sunday 1:00pm – 5:00pm & other available shifts/hours per week

PAMA has a rich history from the origins of the Peel County Courthouse, Jail, Office Building and Registry Office to its expansion completed in 2012. These historical milestones are a testament to the heritage of Peel Region and PAMA's integral place within this history.
The Region of Peel is looking for 4 individuals who are enthusiastic about a career in the arts. As a Visitor Service Guide you will be an essential element of the PAMA's frontline for creating a welcoming environment for visitors and offering administrative support to the Heritage Program teams.
What you will do in this role:
- Welcoming and directing visitors/clients to the complex
- Engaging visitors in exploring and accessing exhibitions and programs
- Assisting in hosting duties at special events and openings
- Assisting with gallery shop questions and sales as needed
- Conducting general tours and providing clerical support (typing, data entry)
What the role requires:
- Post-secondary education in arts, history or other related field
- Experience in art/culture/heritage or related experience is an asset
- Exceptional customer service orientation with experience working in a direct/frontline customer-service environment
Skills/Abilities:
- Strong verbal communications to interact with the diverse population within Peel
- Excellent time management and organization skills
- Ability to work under tight deadlines and manage changing priorities
- Self-directed and able to work within a collaborative team environment
- Knowledge or familiarity with Point-of Sale software and new technology such as tablets
- Proficient with MS Word and MS Outlook
- Able to work Saturdays, Sundays, Thursday evenings and other available shifts if required
