Weighscale Operator
Public Works – Waste Management
1 Casual Position, duration: 5 Months
Hourly Rate: Starting at $24.83/hour
Work Mode: Onsite
Location: 7795 Torbram Rd, Brampton
Hours of Work: no guaranteed hours of work (shifts from Monday to Friday 6:00 am to 8:00 pm)
Reporting to Team Lead, Performance Measurement you will be responsible for the daily operations, including the start up and shut down of the weighscale and data processing equipment, processing all vehicles entering and exiting the facility, completing/verifying various documents and shipping authorization forms.
What you will do:
- Responsible for the daily operations of weighing in customers at the Peel Integrated Waste Management Facility.
- Responsible for the start-up and shut down of data processing equipment - Inbound, Outbound and Remote Scales.
- Responsible to communicate equipment problems/issues with internal and external clients.
- Prepares Material Shipping Authorization Forms. (MSA's)
- Directs customers to the appropriate location for pick up or disposal.
- Reviews and edits daily transactions if necessary.
- Adhering to pertinent regulations and polices.
- Create, maintain and distribute Geoware reports through proper opening and closing procedures.
What the role requires:
- Successful completion of a secondary school diploma combined with one (1) year related experience.
- Strong customer service focus.
- Interpersonal skills to resolve and respond to internal and external clients.
- Intermediate knowledge of computer equipment required.
- Ability to work well under pressure.
- Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
- Proven organization skills with the ability to multi-task and prioritize workload effectively.
- Strong communication skills. (both verbal and written)
- Basic bookkeeping, mathematical and computer skills.
