Location: Halifax, NS
Position: Courier Driver (casual)
Hours: Monday- Friday : 8h00 - 16h30
MAIN TASKS & RESPONSIBILITIES:
- Ability to drive a van
- Ability to lift and carry parcels, up to and including 70 lbs per piece, throughout shift.
- Demonstarted ability to work with customers
- Demonstrated ability to work effectively and on-time within tight time constraints.
- Demonstrated ability to work effectively in a team environment.
- Complete assigned deliveries and pick ups and/or other tasks assigned by supervisor
- Meet security requirements
- Other warehouse duties as assigned by the shift Supervisor.
- Scan and process freight as per agreed procedures and Security Policies
- Move freight within the warehouse area as per requirements
- Accurately sort & process, by deadlines, in-bound material.
- Assist Tracing Department with thorough warehouse checks for missorts, on-hands, etc.
- Perform accurate reporting
- Participate in the organization and clean-up of the warehouse area.
- Participate in maintaining a safe and co-operative work environment
MINIMUM REQUIREMENTS:
- High school diploma or equivalence
- Broad general working knowledge of warehouse functions.
- Good knowledge of MS Office. Comfortable Excel User
- Valid Class 5 drivers licence
- Excellent interpersonal skills and ability to work in a team environment
- Excellent ability to multi-task
- Demonstrated ability to work under pressure
- Able to handle bulky, heavy, awkward shipments.
- Able to stand for long periods of time
- Clean driving Record
- Shall be able to interact with customers over phone and at the Service
- Minimum one year warehouse / customer service experience (asset)
- Understanding of First Choice Programs and Global SOP (asset)
