Assistant Scheduling, Central Business Support Unit (CBSU)
Health Services, Long Term Care
Status: 5 Contract Part Time Positions
Duration: up to 6 months
Compensation: $24.83 - $31.03/hour

Location: 10 Peel Centre Drive, Brampton, ON
Hours of work: No guaranteed hours of work.
Shift times – Weekdays: 5:00am to 1:00pm, 12:00pm-4:00pm, 3:30pm to 11:30pm, 5:30pm-11:30pm
Shift times – Weekends: 5:00am to 1:00pm, 5:00am-11:00am, 11:00am to 7:00pm, 3:30pm to 11:30pm, 5:30pm-11:30pm
*Hours are subject to change based on operational needs. Training will be conducted in-person for two weeks Monday to Friday during standard business hours.
Reporting to a Supervisor CBSU you will provide scheduling support to the CBSU Coordinators.
What you will do in this role:
- You will assist the Coordinators in ensuring all shifts are covered and call-ins completed for our five Regional Long Term Care homes
- Answer, monitor and act on absence line calls and emails received via centralized mailbox
- Make calls to staff to fill vacated shifts ensuring adherence to collective bargaining agreements and business rules
- Document all actions and outcomes and communicate effectively to CBSU Coordinators and Supervisors any unusual occurrences or actions that require further attention
- Identify and resolve scheduling conflicts as they occur
- Update schedules reflecting changes as they occur
- Maintain good relationships with staff and management
- May occasionally be required to respond to emergency situations outside of scheduled working hours
- May be asked to perform other duties as assigned

- High school diploma or equivalent
- Computer proficiency using MS Word, Excel, Outlook and EIM systems
- Organized, able to prioritize work and make decisions in a fast paced work environment
- Strong interpersonal skills
- Positive customer service focus
- Strong verbal and written communication skills
In this role, you'll enjoy the flexibility of a hybrid work arrangement. This means you'll have the ability to work off-site and on-site as needed, depending on operational needs at the 10 Peel Centre Drive, Brampton worksite. The frequency of on-site work may vary from week to week, depending on operational demands, which can evolve over time.
It's important to note that your off-site work location must be within the province of Ontario. This ensures that we're compliant with all regulations and policies.
