Corporate Services – Communications
Status: (1) Regular Full-time position
Salary Range: $89,469 to $111,834 per annum (plus comprehensive benefits)

Peel Region is looking for a Communications Specialist to leverage their consultative expertise in supporting both internal teams and external partners. What you will do in this role:
- Provide Strategic Guidance: Offer expert communications advice to both corporate and enterprise-wide teams, ensuring alignment with broader goals.
- Lead Strategy Development: Develop and implement communications strategies and campaigns for corporate and enterprise initiatives.
- Ensure Clarity and Consistency: Make sure all communications are clear, consistent, and accessible, while reflecting Peel's diverse and inclusive workforce.
What the role requires:
- A university degree or college diploma in public relations, communications, journalism, or a related field
- Minimum of five to seven years of communication experience in corporate communications, or a combination of education and experience may be considered
- Thorough knowledge of communication principles
- Experience with developing and implementing multifaceted communication campaigns
- Experience with issues management
- Strong knowledge of media relations principles and experience working with media especially with crisis or emergency management
- Basic knowledge of social media platforms
- Knowledge of AODA requirements in relation to communications
- Access to a vehicle is required
Skills/Abilities:
- Demonstrated experience with consultative and advisory skills
- Demonstrated negotiation, analytical, and problem-solving skills
- Demonstrated facilitation or public speaking skills
- Excellent writing, editing, proofreading and verbal skills
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office Word, Excel, PowerPoint, and Microsoft Outlook
- Demonstrate a commitment to diversity, equity, and inclusion through continuous development, modeling inclusive behaviors, and proactively managing bias

Work Location: In this role, you'll enjoy the flexibility of a hybrid work arrangement. This means you'll have the ability to work off-site and on-site as needed, depending on operational needs at the 10 Peel Centre Drive, Bramptonworksite. The frequency and location of on-site work may vary from week to week, depending on operational demands, which can evolve over time.
It's important to note that your off-site work location must be within the province of Ontario. This ensures that we're compliant with all regulations and policies.
