Instructor, Business Programs (Term Part-Time)
Portage Campus
POSITION TYPE: Part-Time, Term Position Available (anticipated January 2, 2025 up to April 25, 2025)
SALARY: $63,375 - $96,946 per annum*
*The successful candidate with a Masters or PhD in a related field will receive an Educational Supplement of $2,850 or $5,700 per annum, respectively, pro-rated on an hourly basis.
POSITION LOCATION: Portage la Prairie Campus (90km outside of Winnipeg, MB)

DUTIES
Instructors are required to teach a variety of courses in their field for Red River College Polytechnic. Duties include but are not limited to: maintaining student records, classroom management, student evaluation, marking and grade submission, preparing course outlines and curriculum development. Instructors teach in the classroom, and in some cases instructors will have students joining their class online learning synchronously with in person students. Subject areas include Communications, Conflict Resolution, and Consumer Behaviour.
REQUIRED QUALIFICATIONS
- Post-secondary degree in business, or an equivalent combination of education and experience may be considered
- Significant industry experience in the areas of Human Resource Management, Marketing or Communications
- Experience in developing and delivering presentations in person and on-line
- Strong verbal and written communication skills
- Excellent interpersonal skills with the ability to use conflict resolution techniques to facilitate positive outcomes
- Strong leadership skills
- Excellent interpersonal skills
- Ability to work independently as well as in small to large group settings
- Ability to work with current learning tools and technologies for delivery of instruction
- Experience using the Microsoft Office suite of software
- Experience building a respectful workplace culture that promotes diversity, learning and continuous improvement
ASSET QUALIFICATIONS
- Experience using a Learning Management System (LMS) to deliver blended (synchronous and asynchronous) instruction
- Experience developing curriculum and delivering programming in an on-line setting
- Experience developing curriculum and instructing at a post-secondary level
- Certificate in Teaching for Learning or Adult Education
CONDITIONS OF EMPLOYMENT
- Applicants must be legally entitled to work in Canada
- This position may be required to work evenings and/or weekends
- This position may be required to work throughout the academic year including the summer months
- Instructors are required to complete the Teaching for Learning (TFL) in Applied Education program or have previously completed the Certificate in Adult Education (CAE)
