Lead Building Operator - North (Full Time)

Salary: $53,654.00/year - $67,068.00/year

What qualifications are we looking for?
At YMCA Calgary we strive to ensure our employees are a fit based on their strengths, interests, and future goals. The successful candidate will have the following;Required ABSA 4th Class Power Engineering Certification
Pool Level 1 or 2 Certification will be an asset.
Experience in Building Automation System with Siemens and JCI will be an asset.
Experienced in drawing reviews for the Mechanical, Electrical and Structural
Experience in the Arena Ice Rinks Ammonia Refrigeration System will be an asset.
Theoretical and hands-on experience for mechanical, electrical, and plumbing.
General building maintenance on carpentry, drywall, and painting repairs
Proficiency in writing and verbal communication skills
Proficiency with Microsoft Word, Excel, and PowerPoint Presentation
Current Standard First Aid with CPR-C certificated within the last 12 months from an approved AB OHS provider. Asset if certification is issued by one of the following five Canadian organizations: Canadian Red Cross, Heart and Stroke Foundation, Lifesaving Society, St John's Ambulance and/or Canadian Ski Patrol.
Valid Police Information Check with Vulnerable Sector
Class 5 Operators License and current Driver’s Abstract Records
Own transportation
What does this role look like at YMCA Calgary?
Duties and Responsibilities includes:Responsible for maintaining the YMCA in alignment to the standards set out by the Public Health Act, the Uniform Building Standards Act, the Occupational Health and Safety Act and YMCA Calgary
Ensure prompt response to all work-requests and preventative maintenance tasks
Responsible for schedule support of vacations, absences, and on-call activations where required (Schedule will vary depending on regional schedule demands and projects requirements)
Support the onboarding process and mentorship of new asset management employees
Ensure all training requirements and certifications are complete and up to date
Provide HVAC system maintenance in accordance with manufacturers' guidelines and YMCA standards in a cost effective and efficient manner.
Provide facility equipment’s progress report on maintenance, troubleshooting and repairs.
Provide support and coordination of contractors including orientation, scheduling, and supervision
Support the planning, coordination, and execution of the capital projects
Provide input, oversight, and monitoring of the operational budget
Support the master electrician with preventative maintenance and repairs as required, including after hours work
Support for the Arena operations, maintenance and repairs as required.
Plan facility maintenance such as the upkeep and appearance of all interior spaces, conduct preventative maintenance on all equipment that is the responsibility of the YMCA and repairs to all interior and exterior fixtures and fittings as required.
Maintain back-up reserves of on-demand parts such as plumbing, lighting, door, air filters, and hardware fixtures (inventory management systems)
Coordination of planned operational shutdowns with internal and external stakeholders
Review of facility meter readings and the water chemistry based on the required setpoints
Ensure effective staff communication, both within the branch but also across the Asset Department.
Promote and ensure safe work practices.
Support the Housekeeping team with receiving and storage of supplies.
Work with the Operations Manager on budget development, monitoring, purchasing and creating PO’s.
Ensure all mandatory training is current and updated annually including Standard First Aid and CPR, Emergency Procedures, Hazard Assessment, and relevant job-specific training.
Work closely with other Association Asset staff to share best practice and working procedures. Training staff or sharing your knowledge is an essential way of developing an experienced team. .
