Technical Development Services Coordinator
Public Works – Development Services
Contract Full-Time; 13 Months
Salary Range: $67,772 - $84,714 per annum

Location: 10 Peel Centre Drive, Brampton
Hours of Work: 35 Hours per week
The role:
In this role you will coordinate services provided by the Development Services team. Your responsibilities will include compiling, inputting, and maintaining data related to the intake of development applications circulated by local municipalities, as well as responding to routine inquiries through our Planning Info mailbox. In this role you will:
- Receive, review, and distribute development applications from local area municipalities to the appropriate development services team for comment.
- Liaise with development services managers, planners, and others, as required.
- Administer and maintain application tracking spreadsheet, providing quality control/quality assurance and update data as required for development applications on the Region of Peel’s application folders in EIM.
- Coordinate types of development applications circulated by area municipalities to development services managers, planners and internal client groups through weekly communication and summarizes data for internal use. In addition, coordinate and liaise with local area municipalities and external agencies and consultants to obtain information to facilitate the intake of development applications.
- Coordinate pre-planning and schedule work and prepares submissions for development applications.
- Performs other duties as required.
What the role requires:
- Demonstrate ability to provide information or advice within the guidelines of an established by-law, program or project in planning and development May be equivalent to a high school diploma plus one or two years of formal education in a specialized field.
- Experience and working knowledge of Microsoft Office suite, including Excel and Adobe Acrobat. ArcGIS is an asset.
- Demonstrate excellent communication skills.
- Must be proactive and work well with others to attain specific goals within the expected timelines outlined in planning and development policies.
- Work is based on accepted technical/industry/ professional standards or government guidelines/ legislation. Use judgment to identify the most appropriate solution from several options using prior knowledge and experience.

Work Mode & Job Location: In this role, you'll enjoy the flexibility of a hybrid work arrangement. This means you'll have the ability to work off-site and on-site as needed, depending on operational needs at the 10 Peel Centre Drive, Brampton worksite. The frequency of on-site work may vary from week to week, depending on operational demands, which can evolve over time.
It's important to note that your off-site work location must be within the province of Ontario. This ensures that we're compliant with all regulations and policies.
