Instructor, Early Childhood Education (Term Part-Time)

POSITION TYPE: Part-Time, Term Position Available (anticipated August 18, 2025 up to December 12, 2025)
SALARY: $63,375 - $96,946 per annum*
*The successful candidate with a Masters or PhD in a related field will receive an Educational Supplement of $2,850 or $5,700 per annum, respectively, pro-rated on an hourly basis.
POSITION LOCATION: Portage la Prairie Campus (90km outside of Winnipeg, MB)

DUTIES
Reporting to the Regional Campus Manager, Red River College Polytechnic is looking for an Instructor for Early Childhood Education Workplace program. Responsibilities include classroom instruction, supervision and guidance of students, student evaluation, advising of students, maintenance of student records and other professional duties related to instruction. Examples of subject areas are Topics in Child Development, Curriculum Planning, Guiding, and Introduction to the Science of Early Childhood Education . The incumbent is also required to participate in department and College committees and assist in student orientation and graduation activities.
REQUIRED QUALIFICATIONS
- Early Childhood Educator III Classification, or a Bachelors Degree in Family Social Sciences, Developmental Studies, Child Studies. A combination of education and experience may be considered
- Several years experience working in the field of Early Childhood Learning and Care either in childcare or a similar setting.
- Strong verbal and written communication skills
- Excellent interpersonal skills with the ability to use conflict resolution techniques to facilitate positive outcomes
- Demonstrated leadership skills
- Strong presentation skills
- Ability to teach on campus and remotely
- Demonstrated experience using Microsoft Office Suite
- Ability to work independently as well as in small to large group settings
- Experience building a respectful workplace culture that promotes diversity, learning and continuous improvement
ASSET QUALIFICATIONS
- Experience developing curriculum and instructing at a post-secondary level
- Certificate in Teaching for Learning or Adult Education
- Experience developing and instructing distance-delivered courses including online
- Experience using a Learning Management System (LMS) to deliver blended (synchronous and asynchronous) instruction
CONDITIONS OF EMPLOYMENT
- Applicants must be legally entitled to work in Canada
- This position may be required to work evenings and/or weekends
- This position may be required to work throughout the academic year including the summer months
- Instructors are required to complete the Teaching for Learning (TFL) in Applied Education program or have previously completed the Certificate in Adult Education (CAE)
- May be required to work at various RRC Polytech campuses
- Incumbent must provide a current and satisfactory Criminal Records Check, including a Vulnerable Persons Sector Check
- Incumbent must provide a current and satisfactory Child Abuse Registry Check
