Summary of responsibilities:
The Policy Advisor supports the Corporate Affairs team, including but not limited to implementing and managing the Performance Measurement Framework and wide-ranging aspects of corporate planning and reporting, coordinating initiatives that support Government of Canada priorities, coordinating CATSA’s responses to parliamentary questions, developing briefing material for parliamentary appearances and cross-functional support for organizational priorities and initiatives. The incumbent may also be required from time to time to support the team’s other business lines including enterprise risk management and corporate insurance. The Policy Advisor performs all other duties and responsibilities related to the position as required.
What you need to succeed
To qualify for the position, you must have:
- Graduation from a recognized college or university with a specialization in Public Administration, Business Administration, Law, Social Sciences, Political Science or another speciality relevant to the duties of the position.
- A minimum of four (4) years of experience working in an environment where writing and preparing reports, briefing notes, presentations and strategic plans is the primary responsibility.
- Experience in providing recommendations on operational requirements based on policy decisions.
- Experience working in an advisory capacity.
- Experience liaising with various partners and reporting to senior management.
- Experience researching, collecting and synthesizing substantive volumes of information into a concise and cohesive summary.

- Knowledge of the aviation industry and the related regulatory and security issues.
- Understanding of financial documents and terminology.
- Knowledge of risk management concepts and methodologies.
- Knowledge of performance measurement and environmental scanning practices and principles.
Specific work requirements:
- Ability to work overtime as required;
- Ability to travel as required
- Language Profile: BBBB;
- Ability to obtain and maintain a Secret security clearance; and
- Be a Canadian citizen or permanent resident.
