Day Camp Basketball Coach (Contract)
Brookfield Residential YMCA at Seton
Start Date: June 9th, 2025
End Date: August 22nd, 2025
Salary: $16.40/hour - $20.15/hour

What qualifications are we looking for?
At YMCA Calgary we strive to ensure our employees are a fit based on their strengths, interests, and future goals. The successful candidates will have the following;
Experience volunteering or working with children in a recreation setting;
Minimum two years’ experience teaching basketball lessons to children and youth;
Current Standard First Aid with CPR-C certified within 12 months
Evidence of a clear Police Information Check with Vulnerable Sector Search within 12 months
Have reliable form of transportation is required to get to other YMCA locations
Available evenings and weekends in June for training
Available from July through August, weekdays
What does this role look like at YMCA Calgary?
Duties and Responsibilities include;
Provide a fun, safe, and healthy environment for children registered in YMCA Calgary Day Camps
Provide proactive supervision and facilitate daily activities
Work alongside camp counselors and staff when executing activities and lesson plans
Traveling from branch to branch weekly
Record and report daily/weekly summary of activities to supervisor
Assist with general camp activities when not in specialty area like sign-in/sign-out
Implement and execute daily lesson plans
Demonstrate and role model positive behavior when working with other staff, campers and members
Follow YMCA Calgary Policies and Procedures
Provide first aid when required
Greet parents/guardians and campers on arrival and departure from camp. Providing extra assistance and daily updates as needed
Attend mandatory staff training prior to the start of camp
