Sport Supervisor
Brookfield Residential YMCA at Seton
Start Date: Immediately
Salary: $47,829 - $59,786 a year

What qualifications are we looking for?
At YMCA Calgary we strive to ensure our employees are a fit based on their strengths, interests, and future goals. The successful candidate will have the following;
Bachelor of Physical Education, Kinesiology (or related degree) and/or equivalent experience
Experience working with the Canadian Sport for Life Model including Physical Literacy
Minimum two years’ experience in coaching and sport program delivery, and one-year supervisory experience
Experience with Learn to Skate programming would be considered an asset
National Coaching Certification Program (NCCP) Fundamentals is an asset (basketball, soccer, badminton or skating)
Current Standard First Aid with CPR-C certificated within the last 12 months from an approved AB OHS provider. Asset if certification is issued by one of the following five Canadian organizations: Canadian Red Cross, Heart and Stroke Foundation, Lifesaving Society, St John's Ambulance and/or Canadian Ski Patrol.
Evidence of a cleared police security clearance including a vulnerable sector search
Three professional references required.
What does this role look like at YMCA Calgary?
Duties and Responsibilities include:
Operational Excellence
· Ensure high quality of programs and execution of the program design by personal, direct delivery of programs (Basketball, multi-sport, Badminton, Soccer & Learn to Skate)
· Build relationships with parents, participants, volunteers and staff
· Have a high degree of organizational and administrative skill to ensure Association procedures are adhered to as set by YMCA Calgary
· Volunteer recruitment (volunteer fairs, interview, train and performance manage)
· Market and promote programs
· Develop, control and evaluate the Sport Integrated Leadership Team (ILT) budget for your branch, related statistics, and purchase equipment as required
· Active coaching and mentoring of staff and volunteers, including providing feedback on a regular basis
· Be responsible for ensuring your staff and volunteers receive department and Association specific training
· Effectively communicate in a variety of settings; excellent oral and written communication skills, including intermediate use of technology
· Ensure excellent quality member service by identifying the needs and wants of participants as priority and respond to their concerns in an effective and timely manner
· Facilitate leadership programs for staff and volunteers
· Attend all ILT meetings and provide leadership of designated committee work
· Assist with branch duties (including scheduled duty manager shifts, day camps, registration days, etc)
· Attend branch and ILT special events (Healthy Kids Day, Basketball tournaments, All Sport One Day, in-services, Stampede Breakfast, volunteer appreciation etc)
Health and Safety
· Implement all health and safety systems, policies, and procedures
Community Engagement and Fund Development
· Be a Let’s Raise Ambassador and share YMCA stories
