POSITION TYPE: Full-Time, Term Position Available (anticipated January 5, 2026 up to April 30, 2026)

SALARY: $52,988 - $74,570 per annum

POSITION LOCATION: Notre Dame Campus (Winnipeg, MB)

DUTIES

Reporting to the Chair, the Educational Assistant (EA) plays a vital role in supporting both faculty and students within the Life Sciences Department. This position requires an enthusiastic, adaptable, and detail-oriented individual with strong technical and interpersonal skills. The successful candidate will take a proactive approach to facilitating learning, maintaining organized and safe laboratory spaces, and contributing to the overall quality and effectiveness of program delivery. The role supports a range of disciplines, including Quality Assurance, Food Processing, Chemistry, Microbiology, Instrumentation, and Tissue Culture, and contributes to a positive, inclusive, and engaging learning environment that promotes student success.

REQUIRED QUALIFICATIONS

Diploma in Science Laboratory Technology; an equivalent combination of education and experience may be considered
Recent and relevant work experience in Life Sciences, Science Laboratory Technology, Pharmaceutical and Food Manufacturing Programs/ Laboratory environment and/or industry experience
Demonstrated experience operating and maintaining a variety of laboratory instruments and equipment
Experience working as a learning facilitator, tutor, or in an educational support role with students in an academic environment
Proven ability to adapt quickly to changing priorities and work effectively in dynamic settings with frequent interruptions.
Strong interpersonal skills, including the ability to apply conflict resolution and communication techniques to support positive outcomes
Ability to work both independently and collaboratively within a team-oriented environment
Effective verbal and written communication skills
Strong organizational and time management skills with attention to detail
Demonstrated initiative, reliability, and the ability to manage multiple tasks effectively
Strong technical and troubleshooting skills, including proficiency with Microsoft Office and other relevant applications
Experience building a respectful workplace culture that promotes diversity, learning and continuous improvement

ASSET QUALIFICATIONS

Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in a related Life Sciences field
Background or training in Quality Assurance practices

CONDITIONS OF EMPLOYMENT

Applicants must be legally entitled to work in Canada
This position may be required to work evenings and/or weekends
