Analyst, HR Employee Service Centre

Status: (2) Contract Full Time, up to 13 months
Salary Range: $78,336 - $97,920 per year + plus comprehensive benefits

What you will do in this role:
As an Analyst, HR Employee Service Centre, you will play a critical role in transforming complex Human Capital Management (HCM) data into actionable insights. You’ll leverage your deep HCM knowledge and analytical expertise to optimize HR service delivery, support strategic decision-making, and ensure operational accuracy in pay-impacting processes.
Key Responsibilities:
- Drive Insightful Decision-Making: Partner with HR Service Delivery stakeholders to design and deliver impactful reports and dashboards that inform business decisions and drive workforce strategy.
- Ensure Payroll Accuracy: Collaborate with Coordinators to audit all payroll-impacting entries, ensuring accuracy and compliance before pay finalization.
- Optimize HR Processes: Lead gap analyses, define user requirements, and implement improvements across ESC and payroll processes, procedures, protocols, and training.
- Lead Key Annual Programs: Manage the operational delivery of critical initiatives including the annual Performance Management Program, Collective Agreement wage increases, Band Minimum Adjustments, and Lieu Time payouts.
- Validate and Test Solutions: Conduct rigorous user acceptance testing (UAT) on complex queries, new dashboards, and system updates to ensure data integrity and functionality.
- Enable Data Literacy: Create training materials and deliver workshops to help HR professionals and leaders interpret and utilize workforce data effectively.
- Consult and Collaborate: Work with business leaders and subject matter experts to design customized solutions for reporting needs, ensuring relevance and strategic alignment.
- Deliver Ad Hoc Analysis: Respond to data requests with high-impact visuals and insights by collecting, normalizing, and interpreting workforce data.
- Monitor and Support Leave Management: Analyze sick leave data in collaboration with the Absence & Position Management team to support both union and non-union leave programs.
- Build HCM Queries: Develop and run complex queries within HCM systems to support reporting and analysis needs.
- Translate Data into Action: Conduct deep-dive analyses, extract trends, and translate data into compelling stories for non-technical audiences.
- Facilitate Requirement Gathering: Lead workshops to capture business needs and produce clear documentation for solution development.
What You Bring:
- Expertise in HCM systems and processes
- Strong analytical mindset with the ability to interpret large data sets
- Proficiency in data visualization tools (e.g., Power BI, Tableau) and Excel
- Excellent communication skills with a talent for explaining technical information to non-technical stakeholders
- A proactive approach to problem-solving and continuous improvement
What the role requires:
- Post-Secondary Education or diploma in related discipline
- Three (3) years of experience analyzing employee transactional data in a Human Resources environment or an equivalent combination of education and experience
- Working knowledge of SAP Success Factors and/or PeopleSoft HR Applications, Parklane (Health and Safety Application), JBS (Scheduling Application) and/or others in the market
- Experience and understanding of union reporting and collective agreements (preferred)
- In-depth knowledge of developing queries (PeopleSoft, SQL, etc.)
- Combination of education and experience may be considered
Skills/Abilities:
- Detail-oriented analyst with strong research, problem-solving, and data visualization skills Proficient in Microsoft Power BI, Excel (including Power Query), and HCM systems
- Experienced in handling large HR datasets and translating insights into actionable dashboards
- Strong communicator with excellent organizational, project planning, and teamwork abilities

In this role, you’ll benefit from the flexibility of a hybrid work arrangement that prioritizes meaningful in-person connection. A minimum of two days per week on-site is expected, with additional in-person presence as operational needs evolve. This arrangement allows for a blend of in person and hybrid work that adapts to support both organizational priorities and employee flexibility and is subject to change over time.
