Maintenance Summer Contract (Canada Summer Jobs)
Location: Easter Seals Alberta – Camp Horizon
Term: June 1, 2026 – August 23, 2026 (12 weeks)
Hours: 40 hours/week (Monday–Friday, on-site residency required)
Wage: $15.00/hour
About Camp Horizon
Easter Seals Alberta Camp Horizon is a fully accessible camp located in the foothills, providing year-round recreational and respite programs for children and adults with disabilities. Our Maintenance Team plays a key role in ensuring a safe, clean, and welcoming environment for all campers and staff.
Position Summary
The Maintenance Summer Student supports the upkeep and daily operations of Camp Horizon’s facilities and grounds. This is a hands-on role ideal for someone who enjoys working outdoors, problem-solving, and contributing to a meaningful mission.
Key Responsibilities
·Assist with general maintenance and repairs of camp buildings, cabins, and infrastructure
·Perform routine inspections of facilities to ensure safety and cleanliness
·Support groundskeeping duties (mowing, trimming, garbage removal, etc.)
·Assist with set-up and take-down of camp programs and events
·Maintain tools, equipment, and storage areas in an organized manner
·Support basic plumbing, carpentry, and painting tasks as needed
·Follow all health & safety policies and procedures
·Work collaboratively with the Camp Operations and Maintenance team
Qualifications
·Ability to perform physical labour and work outdoors in various weather conditions
·Basic knowledge of maintenance tools and general repair tasks is an asset
·Strong work ethic, reliability, and positive attitude
·Ability to work independently and as part of a team
·Good problem-solving skills and attention to detail
Requirements
·Must be available to live on-site Monday through Friday for the duration of the contract
·Must provide a clear Police Information Check (including Vulnerable Sector Check)
·Must meet Canada Summer Jobs (CSJ) eligibility requirements
·CSJ Eligibility Requirements:
·Be between 15 and 30 years of age at the start of employment
·Be a Canadian citizen, permanent resident, or person with refugee protection
·Be legally entitled to work in Canada
