Student, Communications Information Management

Schedule: 22.5 hours per week
Location: Ottawa, HQ (Hybrid)
Salary: $18.15 to $30.20/hourly rate dependent on level of education

Summary of responsibilities
- Reporting to and working within the Communications team, the student will provide hands-on information management and administrative support for the overhaul of the team’s shared folders. The student will work closely with Information Management to apply established requirements for file organization, metadata, tagging and naming conventions.
- Support the Communications shared folder overhaul by organizing files, applying approved metadata and labels, updating naming conventions, maintaining content inventories and validating data quality;
- Collaborate with Information Management on content cleanup and migration, records management, quality assurance and other information governance activities;
- Conduct research and analysis and prepare reports, inventories, guidance materials and process documentation;
- Provide administrative and project support to the Communications team and contribute to continuous improvement initiatives; and
- Perform other duties as assigned.
What you need to succeed:
To qualify for the position, you must have:
·Enrollment in a college diploma or a university degree relevant to the duties of the position (information management, records management, library and information studies;
·Have experience or coursework related to document management, records management, SharePoint, metadata, data quality, information governance or the organization of digital information.
·Experience preparing various documents (e.g., presentations, reports, summaries, etc.) and clearly and concisely communicating information and recommendations;
·Be able to plan, organize and manage multiple tasks and projects with competing deadlines;
·Experience using generative artificial intelligence tools, such as Microsoft Copilot, to support research, content organization, data analysis or administrative tasks is an asset.
The above duties are subject to change to meet operational requirements, and your assistance may be requested for additional initiatives. The position, however, will offer a variety of duties and tasks.

To qualify and to be considered for this employment, you must:
- Be eligible to obtain and maintain a Reliability security clearance;
- Be a full-time or part-time CEGEP, College or University student; and
- Be returning to full-time or part-time studies in the next academic year.
