Rocky Mountain Adaptive (RMA) is a not-for-profit organization whose mission is to enable individuals living with physical, sensory, and neurodivergent challenges to participate, learn and excel in mountain sport and recreational activities in the Canadian Rockies. As a multi-sport, year-round organization who provides access to mountain sport and recreation, RMA offers adaptive sports equipment, specialized instructors, trained volunteers and unique training opportunities. Activities include biking, canoeing, hiking, kayaking, skiing, snowboarding, swimming, and much more! Start Date: May 25, 2026
Term: Full Time Seasonal (June 1, 2026 - August 31, 2026)
Timescale: 35 hours / 5 days per week (maximum 40 hours per week)
Location: RMA Office in Canmore, other locations in the Bow Valley and Kananaskis. Hybrid work-from-home available.
Working Conditions: Shared office environment, active outdoor environment (required to work outdoors in summer conditions some of the time)
Wage: $18 - $19 per hour(commensurate on certifications and experience)

Position Overview
The Social Media Coordinator will assist the Communications & Outreach Coordinator in developing and implementing the organization's social media strategy, gathering and creating engaging content, managing social media accounts, and analyzing performance metrics. This role will involve gathering content while out on various summer programs.
Roles & Responsibilities
- Manage social media accounts:
- Gather content while out on various summer programs (hiking, biking, paddling, others)
- Edit visual graphics and short-form video content.
- Create high-quality, engaging content, optimized for each social media platform.
- Respond to comments and messages, and foster a positive online community.
- Schedule and publish content using social media management tools.
- Assist the Communications & Outreach Coordinator with various marketing tasks:
- Implement social media strategies that align with the organization's overall marketing goals.
- Assist in the planning and execution of social media campaigns for specific events, programs, or fundraising initiatives.
- Track and analyze social media metrics to measure the effectiveness of campaigns.
- Assist with occasional website and/or newsletter updates, as needed.
- Follow established brand guidelines for voice, tone, and visual content across all platforms.
- Assist with various fundraisers and/or outreach events
Requirements:
- Qualifications:
- Clear Vulnerable Sector Check
- Class 5 Driver’s Licence an asset
- Standard First Aid (AED/CPR C) an asset
- Skills & Experience:
- Proven experience managing social media accounts for a business or organization
- Proficiency in content creation tools (i.e. Canva, Adobe Creative Suite) and social media management platforms (i.e. Facebook, Instagram, Tiktok, Youtube, LinkedIn)
- Demonstrated ability to work within strict brand guidelines and maintain a consistent aesthetic
- Excellent copywriting skills and proficiency in graphic design tools (e.g., Canva, Adobe Creative Suite) for creating on-brand visual content
- Experience or interest in paddling, hiking, biking, swimming, climbing, or other mountain sports
- Ability to problem solve, work independently and as part of a team
- Time management & organizational skills to schedule & publish engaging content on a regular basis
- Strong interpersonal skills to manage online reputation and engage with the community professionally
- Exceptional attention to detail to ensure accuracy in all communications.
- Familiarity with individuals with physical and/or neurodivergent challenges an asset
Eligibility Criteria
This position is funded through the Canadian Government Summer Jobs Grant Program. Eligible applicants must be 15 to 30 years of age, and a Canadian citizen or a permanent resident in order to apply.
