Start Date: May 11, 2026
Term: Full Time Seasonal (May 11, 2026 - October 5, 2026)
Timescale: 35 hours / 5 days per week (maximum 40 hours per week)
Location: RMA Program Office in Canmore, other locations in the Bow Valley and Kananaskis.
Working Conditions: Shared office/warehouse environment, active outdoor environment (required to work outdoors in summer conditions)
Wage: $19.50 - $22 per hour(commensurate on certifications and experience)

Position Overview
The Adaptive Equipment Lead will oversee the maintenance and repair of all RMA’s summer sports equipment, and assist with facilitating adaptive equipment rentals. This will include maintaining and repairing adaptive bikes, kayaks and other paddling equipment, adaptive hiking equipment, and other specialty adaptive equipment. This role will also include facilitating adaptive equipment rental set up, delivering rental equipment orientations to participants, administrative tracking of the equipment fleet, and assisting with general program equipment setup and pack down.
Roles & Responsibilities
- (About 75% of the role) Management of all RMA’s adaptive equipment:
- Conduct regular maintenance and repair of all equipment (bikes, boats, parts and accessories, hiking equipment).
- Conduct regular cleaning and pack down of equipment
- Maintain records and tracking of entire RMA equipment fleet
- Communicate with Program Team on any equipment needs, replacement parts, and/or tools needed
- Assistance with RMA’s rental program:
- Facilitate equipment rentals (setting up equipment, greeting guests at rental set up, conduct equipment orientations, and perform follow ups after rental is returned)
- Maintain accurate records of rental orientations and equipment setups for future rentals
- Ensure regular communication and transfer of responsibilities on days off
- Help with RMA’s marketing and outreach efforts:
- Gather photo and video content to help showcase all areas of RMA operations
- Assist with various fundraisers and/or outreach events
- Drive RMA vehicles and trailers to assist with any programming needs
- Assist with other duties as assigned
Requirements:
- Qualifications:
- Clear Vulnerable Sector Check
- Standard First Aid (AED/CPR C)
- Class 5 Driver’s Licence
- Skills & Experience:
- Experience or interest in paddling, hiking, biking, swimming, climbing, or other mountain sports
- A keen interest in outdoor education and adaptive sport
- Knowledge of bike and paddlesports equipment setup and maintenance
- Familiarity with tools and equipment required for maintenance
- Ability to problem solve, work independently and as part of a team
- Experience driving a truck and trailer would be an asset.
- Class 4 Driver’s License would be an asset
- Time management & organizational skills
- Good oral & written communication skills, good interpersonal skills
- Experience working with individuals with physical and/or neurodivergent challenges an asset
Eligibility Criteria
This position is funded through the Canadian Government Summer Jobs Grant Program. Eligible applicants must be 15 to 30 years of age, and a Canadian citizen or a permanent resident in order to apply.
