SP-01 OPPORTUNITIES (Salary Range $46,904- $51,779) :
- General Duties Clerk
- Electronic Data Capture Operator
Key Activities Include:
- Receive, sort, prepare and distribute mail in accordance with established procedures
- Screen, file, retrieve, and update taxpayer or benefit recipient records
- Key and electronically capture data, verify and correct information, and provide support using approved systems and equipment
- Work in a volume‑driven, deadline‑oriented environment
- Handle sensitive/confidential taxpayer information
SP-02 OPPORUNITIES (Salary Range $53,782- $59,363):
- Administrative Support Clerk
- Specialty Services Clerk
- Examiner and Document Processing Clerk
- Imaging Technology Clerk
- Machine & Peripheral Equipment Tender
Key Activities Include:
- Review and process tax returns, forms, correspondence, and supporting documentation to ensure accuracy and completeness
- Take appropriate action to complete assessments or reassessments, and processes related accounting or refund activities
- Respond to written and verbal enquiries from taxpayers, representatives, and internal clients
- Use electronic systems and tools to enter data, identify anomalies, perform quality control, and support operational requirement
- Assist with operation of machine and peripheral equipment such as high‑speed printers, scanners, folding machines, and mail‑processing equipment

Important Information About This Position:
Successful candidates are expected to reside within reasonable commuting distance (124 kilometres or less) from the following CRA location:
- Summerside, Prince Edward Island
It is important to note that successful candidates for these positions will be required to physically work on-site at the locations indicated above. Virtual reporting opportunities are not available, at this time.
Intent of the process
This process aims to fill various SP-01 and SP-02 positions at the Summerside Tax Centre. When you apply to this staffing process, you are not applying for a specific job, but to an inventory for future vacancies. We encourage you to submit your application as soon as possible. We may give preference to the first 100 candidates who meet the staffing requirements. If you are considered further, we will notify you in writing of the next steps.
We may create separate lists of qualified candidates based on specific staffing requirements which may be used to staff current and future vacancies as well as similar positions.

Who Can Apply
Any individual residing in Canada, and Canadian citizens and permanent residents residing abroad, and eligible veterans and Canadian Armed Forces members, and individuals with preferred status who live or work less than 40km from the position(s) being staffed.
- Preference for appointment will be given to veterans first, followed by Canadian citizens and permanent residents.
- Please note that this process will be used to staff positions in Summerside, PE only.
- If you are a candidate from the general public, you will have to pay for any expenses related to your participation in this staffing process, as well as any relocation costs if you receive an offer of employment.
- Qualified members and former members of the Canadian Armed Forces who receive an offer of employment are not entitled to relocation costs from the CRA. They may, however, be entitled to a final relocation from the Department of National Defence.
Minimum Staffing Requirements
To be eligible, you must meet the following requirements
Education:
Successful completion of a secondary school diploma or an acceptable combination of education, training and/or experience.
Foreign Education Credentials And Designations:
Please note: If you have foreign education credentials, you must have your education credentials confirmed by a recognized credential assessment service and provide proof of Canadian equivalency to the staffing board. Essential Staffing Requirements
No Experience Required
Note: While previous experience is not required, preference may be given to candidates who have specific experience related to the position being staffed. For this purpose, you must attach your resume. Please clearly outline your work history and experience including any experience in one or more of the following areas:
- Providing general administrative support services such as managing mailboxes, sorting mail, multi-tasking, creating reports.
- Using computer technologies including but not limited to: Microsoft Office software or equivalent (Microsoft Excel, Outlook, Word), PDFs, scanners, fax machines, printers, Internet search engines.
- Keying and electronically capturing data.
