Tutoring Supervisor (Full Time)
Shawnessy YMCA
Salary: $47,829.00/year - $59,786.00/year
Start Date: May 2025
The Tutoring Supervisor will work within traditional office settings in YMCA Centres of Community and will be required to travel to visit the YMCA facilities and locations where they supervise staff and are directly responsible for Tutoring programs. There will also be occasional travel to other locations in the city for YMCA meetings, trainings, and community engagement work. Working hours may include occasional weekends and evenings.

What qualifications are we looking for?
We strive to ensure our employees are a fit based on their strengths, interests, and future goals. The successful candidate will have the following:
· Post-secondary education in Education, Social Work or Humanities field
· Minimum 1 year of supervisory experience
· Demonstrated success in motivating and guiding youth ages 15-21
· Knowledge of newcomer issues and high school youth
· Experience in mathematics is a requirement.
· A high degree of professionalism including the ability to work comfortably and successfully with corporate professionals and volunteers
· Experience in curriculum development and training/facilitating workshops
· Experience in leading and running groups
· Excellent time management, organizational, written and verbal skills
· Strong team-work skills as well as the ability to work independently
· Critical thinking skills
· Administrative experience and knowledge of Microsoft Word and Excel
· Reliable transportation
Current Standard First Aid with CPR-C certificated within the last 12 months from an approved AB OHS provider. Asset if certification is issued by one of the following five Canadian organizations: Canadian Red Cross, Heart and Stroke Foundation, Lifesaving Society, St John's Ambulance and/or Canadian Ski Patrol.

What does this role look like at YMCA Calgary?
Lead, supervise and support a strong, committed team of staff and volunteers
· Complete administrative tasks related to hiring and maintaining staff and volunteers for the Tutoring Table program at four YMCA locations and a fifth community location
· Collaborate to develop training tools and program curriculum
· Recruit program participants
· Build and maintain positive relationships with youth
· Monitor program budget, generate reports and assist in the outcomes evaluation process including understanding, planning and reporting on the program logic model
· Generate reports and assist in the outcomes evaluation process
· Attend internal and external committees pertaining to line of work
· Promote Tutoring Table and YMCA Calgary programs and services for youth
· Build and maintain relationships with partnering schools, agencies and organizations
· Be an ambassador for Tutoring and YMCA programs in the community
· Deliver/facilitate program sessions to youth when staff are unavailable
· Support home branch for Duty Manager shifts and ongoing special events.
