Coordinator – Water Rate Affordability Program
Public Works, Operations Support
Status: Contract Full Time - 24 months
Salary Range: $56,618 - $70,774 per annum plus comprehensive benefits, where applicable

Location: 2 Copper Rd., Brampton, ON
Hours of work: 35 hours per week
Reporting to the Supervisor Analytical Support, this position provides clerical and administrative support for updating information on existing water/waste accounts in CCBCS related to Water Rate Affordability Program, calculate discounts (subsidies), enter adjustments in CCBCS for the discounts (subsidies). You will liaise with customers and cross-functional internal teams to obtain details for updating the information. This position is responsible for providing information to our customers within the guidelines of established by-laws, program or projects. This individual also uses technical or professional skills and/or judgment to work with others to investigate problems and explore alternative solutions to attain specific goals.
What you will do in this role:
- Inputs data and relevant information in CCBCS Billing system from sources including Human Services and/or Internal teams
- Navigate CCBCS to check the historical water consumptions for identified water/wastewater accounts
- Calculate subsidies in line with the approved rules and regulations
- Prepares and processes necessary adjustments on the bills to record the subsidies for existing accounts
- Update control register for activities/actions performed for respective water/wastewater accounts
- Provides clerical and telephone support for customer inquiries.
- Any other related duties as assigned.
What the role requires:
- Secondary School Diploma complemented with minimum 2 years relevant work experience.
- Working knowledge and experience of computer applications such as Microsoft Office
Skills/Abilities:
- Excellent interpersonal and communication skills both verbal and written with internal and external clients - for example other divisions in Region of Peel and home owners with respect to Regional policies, by-laws and guidelines.
- Ability to work independently and within specified deadlines
- Ability to prioritizes and works on multiple tasks effectively while maintaining high quality work results
- Effective Decision Making and problem solving.
- Strong math skills with abilities to analyze data and provide conclusions
- Demonstrate a commitment to diversity, equity, and inclusion through continuous development, modeling inclusive behaviors, and proactively managing bias
Nice to have:
- Knowledge of Customer Care and Billing System (CCBCS) will be considered an asset.
- Experience using a computerized billing system, a utility-based system would be considered an asset

In this role, you’ll benefit from the flexibility of a hybrid work arrangement that prioritizes meaningful in-person connection. A minimum of two days per week on-site is expected, with additional in-person presence as operational needs evolve.
