Counsellor Team Coordinator
Established in 1965 Easter Seals Camp Horizon specializes in an accessible and inclusive summer camp experience for individuals with disabilities and medical conditions. We offer programs such as high ropes, rock climbing, waterfront, camping, arts and crafts, leadership training, and much, much, more! The Counsellor Team Coordinators (CTC) are the team responsible for the supervision and organization of the Camp Counsellor Team. CTCs will ensure that the day-to-day logistics of life at camp run smoothly. They will act as mediators, cabin support, supervisors, and mentors.
What You’ll Be Doing:
·Daily management of the programming schedule
·Supervise and support counsellors
·Planning and participating in camp-wide events
·Conflict resolution
·Counsellor performance evaluations
·Providing a safe and welcoming environment for all campers and staff
·Providing choice and opportunity within every activity. Following the framework of Challenge by Choice
·Ensure that staff and campers are engaged in meaningful activities throughout the day
·Being a leader and role model for staff
·Complete necessary administrative tasks
·Mentoring staff and running a mentoring program
·Assist staff in personal care of campers including support training in personal care
·Support with lifts and transfers when needed
·Support staff during Counsellor training (must be available from June 15th to June 26th for training)
Your Skills and Experience:
·Experience working with individuals with disabilities and complex medical needs
·Experience working with children, youth, and adults
·Ability to work independently with minimal supervision
·Current Standard First Aid and CPR-C
·Excellent risk management skills
·Experience with conflict resolution
·Leadership experience is an asset
·Previous experience working at an overnight summer camp preferred
·Previous experience working at a camp for people with disabilities is an asset
·Class 5 driver’s license asset, Class 4 driver's license an asset
·Any outdoor certifications considered an asset:
Working Conditions to be aware of:
·Contract: June 1 – August 23, 2026
·Onsite in Bragg Creek, AB.
·5-6 days a week 8-12hr days
·Possible longer hours as required
·Working outdoors each day in all kinds of weather
·Working with individuals from a variety of backgrounds and abilities

Conditions of Employment:
·Satisfactory completion of a police information and vulnerable sector check
·Must be able to attend all counsellor training sessions: June 15 -June 26, 2026
·Must be able to live on site while Camps are in session
