Technician, Servicing Connections
Public Works – Water & Wastewater
Status: Regular Full-time Salary Range: $75,696 - $94,621 per annum plus comprehensive benefits

Hours of work: 35 hours/week

What you will do in this role:
- Review and process site servicing permits to ensure acceptable and conforms with Ministry and Regional guidelines, legislation, regulations and design principles
- Examine engineering drawings and supplemental information to ensure acceptable and conforms with Ministry and Regional guidelines, legislation, regulations and design principles
- Respond and resolve internal and external stakeholders enquiries regarding the interpretation of Ministry and Regional guidelines, legislation, regulations and design principles
- Coordinate and process PUCC and MOE applications for internal and external stakeholders, issue notices and plans for inspection, process cross boundary connections and condominium servicing agreements
- Research service easement agreements
- Process financial transactions related to and prepare cost estimates in accordance with Regional fees by-law
What the role requires:
- Post-secondary degree or diploma combined with minimum of 2-3 years relevant work experience in civil engineering or construction field. An equivalent combination of education and experience will also be considered
- Knowledge of detailed design, specifications and construction management practices for municipal infrastructure
- Ability to read, interpret engineering plans and perform detailed cost estimates
- Knowledge of Ministry and Regional guidelines, legislation, regulations and design principles
- Membership with OACETT and working knowledge of Salesforce would be an asset
Skills/Abilities:
- Ability to multi-task, work well under pressure and effectively prioritize workload to meet deadlines
- Excellent judgment and interpersonal skills to liaise with external and internal clients
- Detail oriented with solid computer skills utilizing software applications and specialized programs and MS Office
- Strong written and oral communication skills

Work Mode & Job Location: In this role, you'll enjoy the flexibility of a hybrid work arrangement. This means you'll have the ability to work off-site and on-site as needed, depending on operational needs at the 10 Peel Centre Drive, Brampton worksite. The frequency of on-site work may vary from week to week, depending on operational demands, which can evolve over time.
It's important to note that your off-site work location must be within the province of Ontario. This ensures that we're compliant with all regulations and policies.
