Status: (1) Regular Full Time & (1) Contract Full Time - up to 10 months
Salary Range: $94,455- $118,069 per annum plus comprehensive benefits and vacation accrual
Hiring Range: $94,455 - $106,262 per annum

Who we are:The Social Development, Planning and Partnerships division works collaboratively with our community partners and multiple divisions within the Human Services department to enhance effective service delivery, identify gaps in services and efficiencies, and plan, influence and create solutions that positively impact the residents of Peel. We achieve this through program priorities including Poverty Reduction, Community Investment and Community Safety & Well-being. We provide services such as research, analysis, data analytics, technology, recoveries, appeals, eligibility review, business and policy support, training and development, planning, evaluation, continuous improvement, document services, and project expertise.
In this role you will be responsible for providing project planning and execution support directly contributing to the development and implementation of departmental projects and initiatives. You will work closely with Project Managers within the Project Management and Business Transformation team in the achievement of deliverables through all project phases (including: initiating, planning, executing, monitoring and controlling and close-out).
What you will do in this role:
- Works collaboratively to maintain close and effective working relationships with other Regional staff, partners and the community to ensure awareness of existing and evolving issues and opportunities
- Supports the development of a project charter and project management implementation plans that develop and monitor the execution of clearly articulated milestones and actions.
- Supports project communication plans including the development of materials and execution of various project activities (e.g. newsletters, project updates, emails, status reports, group facilitation, consultation sessions, meetings with various stakeholders)
- Develops surveys, conducts focus groups, and research to inform project scope recommendation development
- Provides interpretation and advice on business efficiencies to the Project Manager and/or working groups to support recommendation from functional review analysis, best practices and research results
- Identifies change impacts and program readiness through departmental assessment and analysis of current state
- Provides statistical and analytical support through research and environmental scans of other municipalities, provinces, countries to inform recommendations or planning within the project stages
- Lead and assume responsibility for work packages with the Work Breakdown Structure, including the development of work plans
- Work with stakeholders to assess project requirements and support the development and monitoring of time, scope and budget parameters
- Support pilot studies, provide recommendations and implement opportunities for improvement using agile methodology
- Develop recommendations to support new service delivery model opportunities identified through project deliverables
- Lead and facilitate working groups, project teams including internal partners within and across departments to achieve project outcomes
- Provide detailed management and reporting of various project activities and plans
- Prepare and conduct presentations and meetings as needed with sponsors, project teams, staff teams and various stakeholders
- Prepare communications for various stakeholder groups
- Analyze relevant documentation and legislation with the ability to offer recommendations
- Support the development of communication, risk, engagement and change plans and execute tactics
- Ensure stakeholder and staff engagement throughout the entire project to build awareness of the changes/reasons/benefits, leverage program/operation expertise and history and encourage buy-in for quicker adoption of changes
- Conduct research, literature reviews and feasibility studies to influence decision making of next steps, creating final reports with findings and recommendations
- Provide support to projects, initiatives underway across the department to ensure connections, leverage efficiencies and shared knowledge
- Prepare and facilitate lessons learned sessions compiling findings included in the Project Close Out report
What the role requires:
- Post secondary education in Human Services or a related field with at least 5 years of related work experience or an equivalent combination of education/experience may be considered
- At least 3 years experience supporting medium to large projects through the 5 stages of Project Management is an asset
- Knowledge of project management principles and methodology
- Knowledge of change management principles and methodologies with experience and ability to implement change tactics
- Effective research capabilities to research various forms of information to inform the project(s) such as industry trends, best practice information and legislation (e.g. Ontario Works Act, Child Care and Early Years, Housing Services, MFIPPA, etc.
- A satisfactory Level 1 Criminal Record Check obtained directly from a police station (third-party background checks will not be accepted).
Skills/Abilities:
- Highly-developed analytical skills to synthesize data and information gathered to inform the project
- Demonstrated ability to work effectively as a member of a team as well as work independently with minimal direction
- Excellent problem-solving and research skills
- Must be able to work on and prioritize multiple projects and activities
- Well-developed written and verbal communication skills; facilitation skills necessary to consult and gather information from a variety of audiences
- Demonstrated ability to work with a high degree of discretion, tact, diplomacy and professionalism
- Effective customer/client service orientated
- Political awareness, sufficient to identify and respond to situations using tact and diplomacy to understand the various parties and stakeholders involved in decision making processes, and to anticipate their likely reaction to statements, proposals, recommendations and situations
- Proficiency in all MS Office applications
- Demonstrate a commitment to diversity, equity, and inclusion through continuous development, modeling inclusive behaviors, and proactively managing bias

Work Mode & Job Location: In this role, you’ll benefit from the flexibility of a hybrid work arrangement that prioritizes meaningful in-person connection. A minimum of two days per week on-site is expected, with additional in-person presence as operational needs evolve. This arrangement allows for a blend of in person and hybrid work that adapts to support both organizational priorities and employee flexibility and is subject to change over time.
It's important to note that your off-site work location must be within the province of Ontario.
