ABOUT THE TEAM

This role is part of a high-performing Library and Academic Services team serving students across multiple campuses, including Notre Dame, Exchange District, South Winnipeg and Stevenson. Working mainly alongside the Exam Accommodations team, the Proctor 2 provides direct supervision and support to students writing exams and reports to the Supervisor, Exam Accommodations.

WHAT YOU WILL DO

Under the direction of the Supervisor, Exam Accommodations, Proctor 2s play a vital role in creating a secure, supportive, and student-focused testing environment. In this casual position, working across various campuses, Proctor 2s are responsible for administering, supervising, and monitoring group and individual examinations while maintaining the highest standards of academic integrity. They provide individualized support to students requiring approved accommodations, including reading exam questions aloud, scribing student responses, and completing Scantron answer sheets as needed.

During peak examination periods, Proctor 2s support operations in the main examination area by organizing exam materials, receiving exams from instructors, and securely releasing completed exams. They also monitor and document washroom breaks, complete documentation, and follow established academic dishonesty procedures.

Success in this role requires professionalism, attention to detail, discretion, and a commitment to providing an equitable and accessible testing experience.

WHAT YOU WILL BRING

High school diploma or equivalent
Excellent problem-solving skills, attention to detail, and organizational skills
Excellent ability to empathize, build trust and strong relationships
Ability to work under pressure and in stressful situations
Ability to multitask, use sound judgment, anticipate potential problems and plan ahead
Ability to read aloud in a clear manner and write at an adequate speed to keep pace with a student's oral responses
Ability to follow directions/processes, but to know when adjustments may be required
Experience working directly with customers/clients
Experience building a respectful workplace culture that promotes diversity, learning and continuous improvement

NICE TO HAVE

Openness to using AI tools as relevant to role specific work
Experience in an educational setting, supporting persons with disabilities, or both

Salary Range for this position: $19.75 - $27.83 hourly
Generous Paid Vacation: full-time employees accumulate a minimum of 15-days vacation per year, increasing to 30 days with service, while full-time Instructors accumulate 44 days per year. Information on casual and part-time vacation accrual is outlined in the Collective Agreement or the Terms and Conditions for Excluded Employees as applicable
December Break: employees receive time off with pay during the period between Boxing Day and New Year's Day
