Start Date: November 6, 2026
Term: Part Time, Seasonal (November 6, 2026 - April 30, 2027)
Timescale: 20-25 hours per week (flexible schedule, days of work are negotiable)
Location: Bow Valley (Canmore / Banff / Kananaskis / Lake Louise), Alberta, Canada (majority of time spent at RMA office in Canmore, or at Sunshine Village Ski Resort)
Working Conditions: Physically demanding (lifting/pushing/pulling), potentially required to work outdoors in winter conditions
Wage: $20 - $22 per hour (commensurate on certifications and experience)

Position Overview
The primary duties of the Adaptive Equipment Technician will include the maintenance and repair of all RMA’s winter sports equipment. This will include alpine sit skis, nordic sit skis, adaptive stand-up ski equipment, and other specialty adaptive equipment, and will involve ski waxing. Other aspects of this role may include managing adaptive equipment rental set up, delivering rental equipment orientations to participants, and administrative tracking of the equipment fleet.
Roles & Responsibilities
- (About 75% of the role) Management of all RMA’s adaptive equipment:
- Conduct regular maintenance and repair of all equipment (alpine sit skis, nordic sit skis, stand-up ski equipment, headsets/radios, parts & accessories).
- Conduct regular cleaning and pack down of equipment
- Maintain records and tracking of entire RMA equipment fleet
- Communicate with Program Team on any equipment needs, replacement parts, and/or tools needed
- Assistance with RMA’s rental program:
- Manage equipment rentals of nordic ski and hiking (setting up equipment, greeting guests at rental set up, conduct equipment orientations, and perform follow ups after rental is returned)
- Maintain accurate records of rental orientations and equipment setups for future rentals
- Ensure regular communication and transfer of responsibilities on days off
- Help with RMA’s marketing and outreach efforts:
- Gather photo and video content to help showcase all areas of RMA operations
- Assist with various fundraisers and/or outreach events
- Drive RMA vehicles and trailers to assist with any programming needs
- Assist with other duties as assigned
Requirements & Qualifications
Mandatory:
- Clear Vulnerable Sector Check
- Standard First Aid (AED/CPR C)
- Class 5 Driver’s Licence
- Experience with alpine and/or nordic ski equipment maintenance and repair (ex. ski tech)
- Familiarity with tools and equipment required for maintenance
- Ability to problem solve, work independently and as part of a team
- Time management & organizational skills
- Good oral & written communication skills, good interpersonal skills
Ideal:
- Knowledge of adaptive ski equipment setup and maintenance
- Familiarity with suspension systems and shocks
- Experience working with individuals with physical, sensory, and/or neurodivergent challenges
- Experience or interest in skiing, snowboarding, or other mountain sports
- A keen interest in outdoor education and adaptive sport
