Administrative Services Representative
Human Services – Income and Social Supports
Status: 1 Contract Full Time (up to 16 Months)
Hourly Range: $27.63 – $32.43/hr
Location: 7120 Hurontario St., Mississauga
Hours of Work: 35 hours per week

Who we are:
Income and Social Supports is the single point of access for a range of Human Services programs provided by Peel Region, and community-based agencies to help individuals or families cope with life challenges or events. Learn more about the supports we provide.
Our mandate is to help lift Peel residents out of poverty by supporting them to take steps towards employment, greater independence, and an improved quality of life. The Role: Reporting to the Supervisor, Income and Social Supports, you will provide financial, technology, business and policy support, and document services that enable effective delivery of Human Services programs.
What you will do in this role:
- Extensive computer work, such as preparation of resumes, correspondence and completion of statistical reports/spreadsheets
- Schedule, reschedule, and cancel appointments and workshops
- Contact Ontario Works participants regarding appointments
- Download and action electronic requests
- Execute all legal agreements/contracts for Ontario Works
- Liaise with clients, community agencies, elected officials and other departmental contacts
- Provide confidential support for all Ontario Works staff and clients
What the role requires:
- Secondary school diploma or educational equivalent, with at least one (1) year administrative or customer service experience
- Minimum 40 w.p.m. keyboarding
- Robust communication skills, written and verbal, with proficiency in English
- Must meet established skill requirements in Microsoft Office applications
Skills/Abilities:
- Excellent organizational skills
- Ability to work in a team environment and independently, with minimal supervision
- Ability to multitask and work in a fast paced environment with continuously changing priorities
- Good interpersonal and problem solving skills
- Ability to exercise judgment to support good decision making
- Knowledge of Ontario Works specific software preferred
- Demonstrate a commitment to diversity, equity, and inclusion through continuous development, modeling inclusive behaviors, and proactively managing bias
Preference will be given to qualified candidates who are currently in the bargaining unit. This position is a bargaining unit position represented by CUPE Local 966. Continuous employment is not guaranteed and may be subject to layoffs as outlined in the Collective Agreement Article 15.

Work Mode & Job Location:
In this role, you’ll benefit from the flexibility of a hybrid work arrangement that prioritizes meaningful in-person connection. A minimum of two days per week on-site is expected, with additional in-person presence as operational needs evolve. This arrangement allows for a blend of in person and hybrid work that adapts to support both organizational priorities and employee flexibility and is subject to change over time.
It's important to note that your off-site work location must be within the province of Ontario.
