Join us as a Scheduling Assistant, Central Business Support Unit (CBSU) and contribute to the essential scheduling operations that support Peel’s five Long Term Care homes. Your strong attention to detail, communication skills, and ability to multitask will help ensure our teams are staffed and prepared to deliver exceptional care.
What You’ll Do
Scheduling Coordination & Support:
- Assist CBSU Coordinators to ensure all shifts are covered across five Regional Long Term Care homes.
- Make calls to staff to fill vacated shifts, ensuring adherence to collective agreements and scheduling rules.
- Update schedules promptly as changes occur to maintain accuracy and operational readiness.
Call & Email Management:
- Monitor, answer, and act on calls received through the absence line.
- Process emails from the centralized mailbox, documenting all actions, outcomes, and follow‑up required.
Communication & Issue Resolution:
- Identify and resolve scheduling conflicts as they arise.
- Communicate unusual situations or concerns to CBSU Coordinators or Supervisors for further attention.
- Maintain strong relationships with staff and management, ensuring respectful and clear communication at all times.
Additional Responsibilities:
- Support emergency staffing needs when required, which may occasionally occur outside scheduled hours.
- Perform additional duties as assigned to assist with operational continuity.
What This Role Requires:
- Education: High school diploma or equivalent.
- Technical Skills: Proficiency using MS Word, Excel, Outlook, and scheduling systems such as JBS
- A satisfactory Vulnerable Sector Criminal Record Check obtained directly from a police station (third-party background checks will not be accepted).

- Organization & Time Management: Ability to prioritize, stay organized, and make decisions in a fast‑paced, high‑volume environment.
- Communication & Interpersonal Skills: Strong verbal and written communication with a positive customer service approach.
- Teamwork & Professionalism: A collaborative mindset, reliability, and the ability to maintain professionalism under pressure.
Nice to Have:
- Previous scheduling experience in a health care environment.
Shift Information:
Weekday Shifts
- 5:00 AM – 1:00 PM
- 12:00 PM – 4:00 PM
- 3:30 PM – 11:30 PM
- 5:30 PM – 11:30 PM
Weekend Shifts
- 5:00 AM – 1:00 PM
- 5:00 AM – 11:00 AM
- 11:00 AM – 7:00 PM
- 3:30 PM – 11:30 PM
- 5:30 PM – 11:30 PM
Hours may change based on operational needs. Training will be conducted in person for two weeks, Monday to Friday, during standard business hours.
Work Mode & Location Details:
In this role, you’ll work in a hybrid arrangement, with time split between remote work and on‑site duties at 10 Peel Centre Drive, Brampton.Your off‑site work location must be within Ontario to comply with organizational policies.On‑site requirements may vary week to week based on operational needs.
