Health Services – Health Strategy, Planning and Partnerships
Status: 2 Regular Full Time
Salary Range: $103,175.00 – $128,969.00 per annum (plus comprehensive benefits, where applicable)
Hiring Range: $103,175.00 – $116,072.00 per annum

What You'll Do:
As a key member of our Public Policy & Advocacy team, you will play a pivotal role in guiding the Region’s health policy direction. You will:
- Provide strategic policy support, expert analysis, and thoughtful guidance to the Health Leadership Team, Commissioner of Health Services, and Regional Council.
- Monitor emerging legislation, government priorities, and political trends that influence Health Services, and translate them into actionable insights.
- Lead and manage policy and advocacy projects that advance departmental and corporate priorities.
- Support the development of health policy and advocacy priorities for Regional Council and its committees.
- Research and synthesize complex policy issues to inform decision‑making across Health Services.
- Work with internal and external partners to identify, assess, and respond to provincial and federal policy changes; mitigating risks and identifying opportunities for advocacy or system improvement.
- Build structures and processes to improve how information, intelligence, and insights are shared across Health Services and beyond.
- Collaborate across departments to support system integration and partnerships, strengthen policy and advocacy planning, alignment, and implementation.
- Guide and review intelligence gathered by policy analysts to ensure high‑quality monitoring and analysis of legislative and environmental trends.
- Partner with the Manager, Public Policy & Advocacy to develop and deliver departmental Advocacy Plans by engaging with sector organizations, stakeholders, and leaders.
- Provide regular reporting to the Director, Health Strategy, Planning and Partnerships and the Health Leadership Team on progress, priorities, and emerging issues.
What The Role Requires:
- University degree in a related field, such as public policy, public administration or health policy
- Minimum 5 years’ experience in public policy, research or strategic decision-making environment
- Experience writing council reports, briefing notes for senior leadership
- Combination of education and experience may be considered
- Proficiency in MS office productivity software
- Knowledge and experience in using project management principles
- A satisfactory Level 1 Criminal Record Check obtained directly from a police station (third-party background checks will not be accepted)
Skills/Abilities:
- Strong communication, facilitation and conflict resolution skills
- Excellent critical thinking and analytical skills
- Ability to provide specialized advice to support strategic policy development
- Knowledge of provincial and federal policy, legislative frameworks
- Understanding of local health system and Peel Region's role within it
- Skills in organizing resources and establishing priorities
- Demonstrate a commitment to diversity, equity, and inclusion through continuous development, modeling inclusive behaviors, and proactively managing bias
Nice To Have:
- Completed Masters’ degree in related field

Work Mode & Job Location:
In this role, you’ll benefit from the flexibility of a hybrid work arrangement that prioritizes meaningful in-person connection. A minimum of two days per week on-site is expected, with additional in-person presence as operational needs evolve. This arrangement allows for a blend of in person and hybrid work that adapts to support both organizational priorities and employee flexibility and is subject to change over time.
It's important to note that your off-site work location must be within the province of Ontario.
