Position Summary
Autism Alliance of Canada is looking for a Human Resources Assistant to join their team for an 8-week summer position through the Canada Summer Jobs program.
The ideal candidate will support the Autism Alliance of Canada in strengthening its internal operations by assisting with HR-related tasks. This position focuses on enhancing the employee experience, ensuring compliance with HR policies, and contributing to organizational efficiency.

Your administrative support ensures the smooth functioning of working groups and committees, contributing to the overall success of Autism Alliance of Canada’s initiatives.
Key Responsibilities
Recruitment Support:
- Assist with job postings, application tracking, and scheduling interviews.
- Coordinate candidate communication to ensure a smooth recruitment process.
Onboarding and Employment Engagement:
- Support onboarding activities, including preparing orientation materials and scheduling yearly training sessions.
- Assist in the development of initiatives to enhance employee engagement and retention.
HR Administration:
- Provide administrative support for HR-related documentation, such as contracts and policy updates.
- Support updates and communication of staff policies and procedures.
Diversity, Equity, and Inclusion (DEI):
- Assist in the development and implementation of Diversity, Equity, and Inclusion initiatives to strengthen an inclusive and accessible remote workplace.
- Support the development of training materials and tools that support Diversity, Equity, and Inclusion and Accessibility across the organization.
Additional Support:
- Provide general administrative assistance to the Director of Operations
- Support planning of staff events and training sessions.
Position Requirements
Education:
- Currently enrolled in a university or college program in Human Resources, Business Administration, or a related field.
- Languages: Bilingual French and English preferred
- Priority will be given to Autistic applicants.
Skills and Knowledge:
- Strong organizational and time-management skills.
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
- Proficiency in Google Suite (Docs, Sheets, Slides, Gmail, Calendar).
- Familiarity with HR systems and software is an asset.
- Ability to handle sensitive and confidential information with discretion.
- Knowledge of diversity and inclusion principles is an asset.
Experience:
- Prior experience in HR, administration, or related fields.
- Knowledge of Ontario employment laws and regulations.
Languages:
- Bilingual French and English will be considered an asset.
