ABOUT THE TEAM

The School of Continuing Education at RRC Polytech delivers flexible, industry-aligned learning opportunities for adult learners, including full-time and part-time programs, as well as stand-alone courses, micro-credentials, seminars, and workshops. Our offerings support upskilling, reskilling, and career advancement for working professionals across Manitoba and beyond.

WHAT YOU WILL DO

As an instructor within the Regional Campuses and Adult Learning, your responsibilities would include classroom instruction, supervision and guidance of students, student evaluation, advising of students, maintenance of student records and other professional duties related to instruction. Examples of subject areas are High School Math, Chemistry and Physics 40S. The incumbent is also required to participate in department and College committees and assist in student orientation and graduation activities.

WHAT YOU WILL BRING

Bachelor of Education with a valid Manitoba Teaching Certificate
Experience teaching Mathematics and Sciences at a High School or secondary level
Ability to implement current teaching practices, including formative and summative assessments
Strong verbal and written communication skills
Excellent interpersonal skills with the ability to use conflict resolution techniques to facilitate positive outcomes
Demonstrated leadership skills
Strong presentation skills
Ability to teach on campus and remotely
Demonstrated experience using Microsoft Office Suite
Ability to work independently as well as in small to large group settings
Experience building a respectful workplace culture that promotes diversity, learning and continuous improvement

NICE TO HAVE

Experience developing curriculum
Experience working with diverse learners (adult, cultural, socioeconomic, Indigenous)
Experience preparing students for provincial high-school level exams
Experience using a Learning Management System (LMS) to deliver blended (synchronous and asynchronous) instruction

Salary Range for this position: $35.58 - $55.78 hourly*
Generous Paid Vacation: full-time employees accumulate a minimum of 15-days vacation per year, increasing to 30 days with service, while full-time Instructors accumulate 44 days per year. Information on casual and part-time vacation accrual is outlined in the Collective Agreement or the Terms and Conditions for Excluded Employees as applicable
December Break: employees receive time off with pay during the period between Boxing Day and New Year's Day

CONDITIONS OF EMPLOYMENT

Applicants must be legally entitled to work in Canada
This position may be required to work evenings and/or weekends
This position may be required to work throughout the academic year including the summer months
Instructors are required to complete the Teaching for Learning (TFL) in Applied Education program or have previously completed the Certificate in Adult Education (CAE)
May be required to work at various RRC Polytech campuses
Incumbent must hold a valid Manitoba Teaching Certificate
