Join our Linguistic Services team, where you’ll work with dynamic and highly productive language professionals in a large federal Crown corporation. You’ll be at the heart of the action and contribute directly to advancing the industry that feeds the world.
As a Student, Junior Linguistic Services Administrator, fluent in both of Canada’s official languages, you’ll act as the first point of contact for all FCC employees submitting translation request. The Junior Linguistic Services Administrator manages the distribution of various types of requests, balancing internal and external assignments, and responding to client inquiries. You'll work with clients and translators to ensure the requests are delivered in the expected timelines. Your organizational and interpersonal skills will help manage risks for our customers and our corporation, and you'll strive for excellence to deliver outstanding customer experience.
What you'll do
- Review translation requests to ensure that the content received meets service guidelines and is translation-ready with instructions that are clear
- Perform an initial analysis of translation requests using the computer-assisted translation (CAT) software and assigns to the appropriate internal and/or external resources according to the subject matter.
- Maintain accurate information in the translation workflow software to ensure an accurate and in-the-moment view of workloads, as well as for statistical reporting purposes
- Contribute to the advancement of Canadian agriculture with enthusiasm, dynamism and creativity

What you'll need
- Enrolment in a program for a degree with specialization in project management, languages, linguistics or translation
- Proficiency in both official languages (English and French) and proven ability in oral and written communication
- Knowledge of translation theories, practices, trends and approaches and translation project management using a (CAT) tool is considered an asset
- Experience with TMS workflows is considered an asset
