The CPAA is an affiliate of United Cerebral Palsy. We enrich and support the lives of children and adults with all disabilities through our programs and services. We also collaborate with other organizations to promote awareness, acceptance and understanding for individuals with disabilities to live, learn and work in the community.
Job Summary
The Programs Coordinator works collaboratively with the Programs and Services team and reports directly to the Social Inclusion & Support Services Supervisor. This position is responsible for coordinating programs and activities for children and adults with disabilities while supporting inclusive participation, member engagement, and program quality.
Responsibilities
- Coordinate, supervise, and evaluate programs and activities
- Assist members in identifying appropriate programs and refer to support services as needed
- Collaborate with the Programs and Services team to assess the feasibility of new or existing programming based on member needs
- Maintain accurate spreadsheets, databases, and records related to programs and member participation
- Meet regularly with the Social Inclusion & Support Services Supervisor to discuss program progress, concerns, and operational issues
- Track program enrolment, attendance, and retention
- Work collaboratively with instructors and the Volunteer Coordinator to provide guidance and support to volunteers involved in programs
- Support and coordinate member events, including recitals, in-person meetups, and other activities
- Implement activity policies and procedures to ensure the safe participation of all members and participants
- Submit program expense reports to the Social Inclusion & Support Services Supervisor to ensure programs operate within approved budgets
Qualifications & Skills
- Postsecondary education in Human Services, Social Work, Recreation Therapy, Disability Studies, Education, or a related field, or an equivalent combination of education and experience
- Minimum 2–3 years of experience coordinating programs or services, preferably in a nonprofit or community-based setting
- Experience working with children and/or adults with disabilities using inclusive, person-centred approaches preferred
- Demonstrated experience with program coordination, scheduling, tracking, and evaluation preferred
- Strong organizational and time management skills with the ability to manage multiple priorities and programs simultaneously
- Strong administrative, data management, and record-keeping skills with a high level of accuracy and attention to detail
- Proficiency with databases (e.g., Salesforce or similar systems), spreadsheets, and online registration tools
- Ability to monitor and track enrolment, attendance, retention, and program-related data
- Strong written and verbal communication skills with the ability to interact effectively with members, families, staff, instructors, volunteers, and community partners
- Ability to assess participant needs and provide appropriate referrals and support services
- Ability to work collaboratively within a team environment and build positive working relationships with internal and external stakeholders
- Sound judgment related to safety, inclusion, confidentiality, and professional boundaries
- Strong adaptability, initiative, and problem-solving skills in a dynamic service environment
- Commitment to inclusion, accessibility, and CPAA values
- Valid Class 5 Driver’s License
Monday to Friday, between 8:30 a.m. – 4:30 p.m.
In-person position
Occasional evening or weekend work may be required
Travel may be required
